The top oven not maintaining heat why plenty of reasons depending on age could be a weak ignitor, bad temp sensor, is the oven light on if so oven stops heating after 30 seconds any oven maintaining set point temp will brown and if left long enough burn
there should be an adjustable air shroud around the burner tube
for safety sake and to ensure that what you suggest is the real problem and not a symptom, get in gas fitter to diagnose the fault
faulty power turns off a breaker
faulty gas explodes a house
the oven pilot has 2 setting first setting is for you to light small flame, should not be all yellow if it is it has a dirty orifice inside the pilot hood, you can remove this by disconnecting the pilot line from the hood and removing orifice for cleaning, just rub it with a cloth.once clean and replaced you light pilot and check it out. if its ok turn on oven and secondary pilot will ignite that why it got bigger!! this heats a flame sensor to allow 100% safty vavle to open to let gas into burner so yuo can cook.
Hello, even though the igniter is glowing it does not mean it is drawing the correct amps to open the safety valve. If your igniter is glowing orange replace it. Igniters should glow brillient yellow to the point where you cant look at it. replace the igniter and you will be good to go. Good Luck!! Mike
this sounds as if your gas suooly pressure has dropped and the ignitor
does not light until a significant amount of gas is in the oven. check
your gas supply line for a bend or kink, also chec if the shutoff valve is
partially closed.
This sounds like a problem that was common at the time these ranges were sold -- it prompted a recall:

Hopefully you can still get it fixed. BTW, these ranges were manufactured through 2000 by the Wolf Range Co., which only makes the commercial models now. Residential ranges are now marketed under the Wolf brand by Sub-Zero.
