Hi
I will include a fuel routing picture also.
*****************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Sounds like you have dirt/debris in your caburetor jets, fuel passages or a diaphgram that is becoming non-flexible.
Check/Clean/Replace your Air Filter, a dirty air filter can make your engine run to rich with fuel.
Note: ALWAYS USE COMPRESSED AIR TO CLEAN YOUR JETS AND PASSAGES, VERY IMPORTANT.
Note:Before you disassemble the carburetor:
Write down on a piece of paper or take a picture of how the linkage attaches to your carburetor for later reference when you go to reinstall your carburetor.
Mark each piece with a awl, or some kind of instrument that will make an alignment scratch before you disassemble the carburetor into separate pieces.
That way you will know which way it goes back together when you reassemble it.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor or by using a very small shot of starting fluid and letting it run a few times like that, and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
Be sure to check your fuel tank for water and dirt/debris, if there is water/debris then you need to clean your tank.
Check you fuel line condition after a while they will degrade and need replacment.
Check/Clean/Replace your fuel filter if you have one, normally they are located in the fuel tank of chainsaws .
When you remove your fuel lines from the carburetor be sure to make a drawing to how the lines are connected to the carburetor or take a pictue for later reference.
Normally the big line will be the line the fuel filter is connected to inside of the tank.
The smaller of the two lines is the return to the fuel tank from the carburetor after it is pumped thru the carburetor by the primer bulb.
Make sure you are using fresh fuel...and oil mix if your using a two cycle chainsaw with the oil to the right mixture and not too much oil as it can cause hard starting.
If the chainsaw is over a couple of years old, then I recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
The diaphgram may look good and flexible, but it can be deceiving and not act as a fuel pump as it should because it has become too hard and will cause hard starting, start and run and shut off, etc.
When you clean your carburetor, I recommend that you use a laquer thinner type cleaner to clean and dissolve the laquer build-up in the float and needle jet passages.
Be sure to remove all plastic and rubber parts before using the laquer thinner because it can dissolve the plastic parts and render them unuseable.
Be sure to use COMPRESSED AIR to blow out all the fuel and air passages. The higher air pressure is needed to blow some of the trash/debris from the fuel or air passages.
Be careful when blowing out the passages, because there are sometimes small rubber type seats in the bottom of some of the passages.
Keep in mind that the float (if you have one) for the carburetor must be level when you go to reassemble the carburetor or follow the instructions you get with the carburetor kit, or you could also ask the parts man that you get your kit from.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, you will first need to lightly seat the jet screws.
But before you lightly seat the jet screws count the number of turns it takes to seat the jet screws from their original position.
Be sure to mark the turns down on a piece of paper.
That way when you put the jets back in, you know to lightly seat them first and then turn them back out to their original position before you started.
Note:
The little spring inside of the carburetor goes under the float arm.
That is where your fuel inlet needle/float valve is located...on the arm at the end.
Normally there is a small indetion in the carburetor base and a small protrusion on the underneath of the float arm where the spring will be in the right postion for installation.
The spring will set in the indention and you will install the float arm with the needle/float valve and float rod into position over top of the spring, you will push down until it is in position and then you can tighten the screw that holds the float arm assembly in position.
Once you have your carburetor cleaned/rebuilt that should solve your problem.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

Saw will run at idle (rough) but will immediately bog down at high speed.

is the chain sharp ? could the bar (chain rides on this) maybe be bent (even slightly) , could the auto oiler not be working ? loss of power issues that are not a fuel flow problem sometimes are these above , also I do assume that you have tried a new fuel filter , its inside the fuel tank on most models , one other thing , ive had some success using automotive fuel cleaner in saws before , a 50/50 mix of gas /cleaner is usually strong enough also don't forget the oil on 2 strokes , never run a two stroke without oil in the fuel

My new poulan will start and run great for about 5-10 minutes then will just quit running. let it set and cool down and it will do the same thing why?

important to use correct oil and mix. no guessing. too much oil mix fouls up the engine. make sure blade is adjusted properly and not gummed up with oily debri

Poulan woodsman 2150 starts & runs for a few

This is fuel starvation, start by replacing the fuel filter inside the fuel tank, use a piece of bent wire to hook the fuel line and filter out of the tank, check the condition of the fuel hoses up to the carb, any signs of leakage and you will have to change the hose. See if this works before we go into the carb to locate the blockage.

Poulan 16" saw, start fine, runs fine until it

A couple of ideas, it could be a fuel tank breather issue, when it starts to die just try loosening the fuel cap, if the saw picks up again you will need to change the breather, the only other thing i can think of is a bad ignition that is breaking down when hot, the only aswer to this is to replace the ignition unit

Poulan 16" saw, start fine,

Usually when a small engine starts fine.. runs fine.. gets hot it's ignition related.

First you want to make sure the cooling fins are clean.. remove any covers and clean the area around the head. If those fins are clogged.. not good.

Second I would check the spark.. and the spark plug condtion.

Also for power tools that don't get used that often.. fuel sytems get gummed up.. fuel gets old.. and folks tend to use the fuel in the can they mixed two seasons ago. Make sure the fuel mix is correct.

I assume it is running fine with the choke off.. however check the choke for proper operation.

Clean or replace the air filter as well.. once all the ignition and fuel components are in good order.. only then should you begin to adjust the carb. Probably not needed.. but don't do it until you are satisfied that you have good air fuel mix and proper spark.
Best of luck

POULAN PRO CHAINSAW DOES NO WANT TO RUN AT FULL THROTTLE & WILL BOG DOWN UNDER LOAD. TRIED NEW GAS & CHECKED SPARK PLUG. HAD IT TUNED UP ONCE & STILL NO BETTER.

If this machine has a spark arrestor in the muffler this may be blocked, check around the muffler outlet for a gauze which may have carboned up.You need to find out if it is running rich, or lean which is causing the problem. too rich a fuel/oil mixture will also cause the machine to bog down at full revs, it should run a 50-1 mix with good quaility two stroke oil. If it is running too lean it will also cause this type of problem ( blocked fuel filter, cracked fuel hose, dirt in the carb )

I have a Poulan 3400 and when I can get it started it won't run with any power. Changed fuel and fuel filter on end of fuel line in tank but still have to "feather it" once it is running and still bogs...

OEM fuel line gets brittle and cracks, typically passing fragments to carb, which clog filter screen in carb. If in doubt, replace line with "Tygon" available at most dealers. Pvc is not suitable. Cut tube at end at an angle and feed through tank hole with needle-nose/hemostat. You may be able to open carb to clean filter, or it may be better to find repair shop to do it as part of rebuild. Don't know if you can find replacement carb, but carb kit is available, and inexpensive.

Saw runs great then bogs down 20 sec. after i start cutting i let off it runs good then bogs again when cutting after a few sec

Check your air filter, if clean chances are your carburetor needs to be rebuilt. the carburetor has thin diapragms that get hard and won't meter the fuel in fast enough.

POULAN PRO 295: RUNNING VERY STRONG, FOR OVER AN

Remove the air filter, squirt a little fuel into the carb. Start and let run if it will for a few minutes. Could be you had some water in old fuel. and it is still in the intake of saw. If it still will not run after squirting some fuel into carb. You have a firing problem.
