SOURCE: blue ray player wont play blue ray ''Kung Fu Panda'' disc.

i fixed this exactly as previous posted solutions, however a couple of points.
a) recordable CDs work if you don't have a DVD burner.
b) I didn't have a CD burner that would do an "image burn", I downloaded a free copy of "Express Burn" and that worked fine. The disk needs to be "finalised" or "fixated", it should do this automatically, or it may be a tick box selection.
c) I got a "No DWLD 09" when I put the disk into the player. I found this was an incompatibility with the CD-R (Maxwell) I was using. I changed to JVC and it worked fine.

SOURCE: Letter box picture when viewing blue ray discs on Sony BR player

All blu-ray movies are in Widescreen format. So your tv converts the picture to make it look like letterbox. There will be some movies that will have those little black bars at the bottom. There will be some movies that don't. There is nothing to worry about it is normall.

Hope this helps

SOURCE: blue rays not playing and screen says no signal

This is blue ray lens failure. this optical Assembly has two separate reading lenses. there is one designated for Cd audio and CD_ROM reading and, the other is blue ray compatible. the blue ray lens in inoperable at this point. you will need to replace this lens assembly.

SOURCE: Sudden problem: voices can't be heard, everything else normal.

If this is on a home made dvd then that is probably where you the problem is.

If you try a proper store bought dvd and that works then you know its the other dvd.
But if a proper store bought dvd give the same errors then it could b a setting or part of the sound replay circuits that have or ore dying

Bluray player can't hear voices but background music

Either the player or the set it is hooked to may have in the audio settings a "Hall" or similar setting--background will be louder than people speaking---its a setting.

I've had this problem before, but not on this specific head unit. You most likely have your audio setup to 5.1 or other surround format, yet have nothing hooked up to the center channel output of the head unit.
Unless you've currently hooked up the center channel to an amplified speaker, or gotten out of a surround mode, you're not going to hear anything.

If you do have everything hooked up right and are sure the settings are correct, possibly a blown amp in the head unit.

You need to verify that the TV on screen audio setuo under HDMI is set to 'AUTO' so it will choose the audio through HDMI port not through the aduio Analog or SPDF/TOSLINK PORT. Check the set up of the DVD HDMI audio setting also.

Most of the sounds you are hearing good are background sounds. If you are running a surround system, you might want to try adjusting the output of your primary speakers, checking for the correct setting on your receiver, and verifying that your central audio is in the correct section ( receiver output ).

If you are not using surround sound,
Check the in-game menu (Pause) for an audio section, some games allow you to turn the character voices up and the music down. If you don't have that option, try using a new output cord from your xbox to Tv.

Hi edwardm1,

If you are only hearing part of the audio from your DVD player, I would suggest you check your audio settings before seeking repairs.

Audio can be encoded to a DVD in several ways. If the audio on the disc is different than the settings on your DVD player, you may not hear all of the audio layers. For example, if your DVD is encoded in 5.1 Surround Sound, but your DVD player is set only to play basic Stereo, you may only hear portions of the audio.

Try accessing the menu on your DVD player, and look for the audio settings. If there is a higher setting available than is currently selected, try a higher audio setting. A higher setting should also be compatible with lower types of audio encoding.

If this does not improve your audio, or if you need help navigating your product menus, I would recommend giving Pioneer's toll-free support line a call at (800) 421-1404.

Thank you,

Background sound too loud

Thank you, everyone! I thought maybe I was losing my mind. I can hardly watch a lot of the TV shows anymore due to the inappropriate use of music -- either it's too loud or there's just too darned much of it. Come on, TV producers! You are supposed to get better with time, not worse! Thank goodness I'm not alone.
