Hi,
Please go to user manual page 43 of your tv which stated...

This TV does not support Sync on Green or Composite Sync.
If a signal other than in the above chart is input, it may not be displayed properly or may not be displayed as you set.
Using the Vertical frequency (Hz) of the personal computer at 60 is recommended.

Try to select proper Display Properties > Settings > Advance > Monitor > Screen refresh rate.

The lamp of course will or should not affect the sound---next time it is cold try it on a rear input---a DVD player etc to see if same issue--this could narrow down where the problem is.

This is the backlight bulbs or the inverter board that powers them. Both will need tested, hopefully only the inverter board will need replaced.

Hi it sounds like it could be an issue with board that powers the lamp ,it's called the ballast.When you put a new lamp in the ballast has to provide more power ,when it starts to go weak it will not light up.Sometimes you can put your old lamp in and will work fine.Try partstore.com they might have it right there.Hvae a blessed one!

Dull dark picture on kdf-e50a12u rear projection

Depending how long you have owned it and if a Lamp was ever replaced, it probably needs to be replaced. You can check with SONY at
1800-222-SONY and see if they could sell and send you one.

Fuzzy picture

You can't make SD look like HD thats why HD came out, the best you can do is adjust the picture controls to get the optium picture
