I have a brand new Sunbeam 0.9 Cu. Ft. Microwave Model SGB8901 that runs but does not heat food or boil water. Everything seems to be working on the touch pad but the unit will not heat anything. Any suggestions?

Open the case and cut or disconnect the wire to the device that emits the sound. Likely it is not a speaker but a pizzo electric device. The manufacturer's do not usually include any way to turn this function off. You have to do it by brute force.

Only 2 years old? Hopefully you still have owner's manual, troubleshooting section should help you look for the problem. Hopefully, there is a circuit breaker, or perhaps a fuse. I hope it was not used with a metal object accidentally. No help? Check with Sunbeam Customer service, be nice, they usually are helpful.

If it doesn't heat you nedd a technicion. orconatct manufacturer.

That will either be the magnetron or the power transistors inside having failed. If you get lucky a repair shop might be able to fix it reasonably but usually it is time to look for a replacement as the repairs cost more than the new one.

Can not find a fuse for a Sunbeam microwave model SGG5701. Where can I find one? My microwave went out after only 3 months of having it.

Generally the magnetron (the part that heats the food) is the cause if everything else still works. Unfortunately replacing the magnetron is barely cheaper than buying a new microwave though you can check out repairclinic.com to decide whether you want to attempt replacing the part.

I had the same problem, but didn't have the box anymore. The store let me exchange it for another one but that one is doing the same thing too.
