Take the side of the computer off and look for the model number on your motherboard. you need to know if your using a network card or if its onboard Lan. if everything you need is onboard all you need to do is search your motherboard number on the internet and download the drivers. you need can select what you need, sound, lan etc. your goning to have to use a friends pc so you can download these files. when your Lan is installed go to the microsoft webpage and get the latest updates, that will solve the usb in your device manager

Compaq SR1650NX HARD DRIVE MESSED UP RECOVERY DISK WON'T WORK REPLACED HARD DRIVE CAN'T GET BIOS TO RECONIZE HARD DRIVE SHOWS UP IN BOOT BUT NOT IN MAIN HP SAID TO INSTALL NEW OS HAD OLD 98SE LOADED WORKED...

Are you trying to set up a raid configuration? If not I would reformat using the 98 disk and reinstall. (You may be able to skip installing 98, try installing xp first and it should ask for the disk containing the software (win98) that qualifies for the upgrade.

Hi there, my problem is ,my windows xp can't startup. i thought my OS has problem, then i try to reformat it (reinstall winxp). the format process fail to complete as well. I try to format same HDD to...

you need to reinstall it completely ...but first check the ram memory ..sounds like a problem there ...If you tried to format during installation and didnt worked..or it worked to format the partition but it didnt let you load files..to start the actuall installation ..this is a issue of Ram memory ..(it may also give you blue screen errors..)
if you only tried to format it from the windows...there is an issue cause this is not possible for partitions with windows on it ...so you need a windows installation bootable cd and boot from it to reinstall and only then you will see if the issue is indeed with the Ram memory ..or was just plane ...bugged..
so ...if you do not have such a disk ..go here ..download a image ..and burn it by double clcik on it ..(using nero for file association ) ..on a new blank cd-r
after that select the first boot device...(in bios) cd /dvd and restart and see whats going on ...if it fails loading files..it is the Ram memory to blame ..or the Hdd..but if the hdd accepted to be installed in another computer ..it only remain the Ram..
here is the image ...use utorrent to download

When i start it up, only the "vaio" is occuring on my screen. i tried to reformat it using xp sp2, but it doesn't working. what should i do

In that case, put your Windows XP disk in the drive and boot up. During boot up press F2 and set the boot sequence to CD. Windows will install XPon your hard drive. Follow the promps and after the istallation is finished, download and install SP3.

Unable to formate window 7 ultimate

You need to boot the PC with the XP CD and you will get an option to delete and format partition before new install. If you dont have the option to boot from CD at startup you will have to enter setup / bios and enable CD as first boot device. Cheers from Scott

I wnat to reformat my com from window vista to window xp, i have the CD for window xp how can i do that

Best way is boot to the VISTA DVD and delete the NTFS partition. Once you have done that, you should be able to boot to the XP CD and install XP. Caution, make sure you have already downloaded and saved the XP drivers for this model system, before you do the XP install. Some vista systems do not have drivers for XP or have FIRMWARE issues with rolling back the OS on some devices (Dell bluetooth 360 is one)

NEED TO REFORMAT

If you put a BootCD in the CD drive then turn the system on you should be able to format the HDD from the CD. Also, your new operating system disk should allow you to reformat the HDD. Just put the CD in and start the computer up again. Watch for a message to press the spacebar or any other key to boot from the CD.
