Upper spray arm keeps falling off. Samsung Parts.com and their 3PL provider cannot ID the part. I don't have a parts breakdown drawing. Any suggestions. The Part Number on the Spray arm is DD62-00062A

The problem on my Samsung was not the spray arm but the part it hangs from. This part is a small grey socket with a part number of POM it costs about $12 including shipping from here:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Samsung-Parts/Dishwasher-Parts/Model-DMT300RFWXAA/1482/0130000/50037802/00005?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=

After the spray arm falls off or you remove it by pulling it down and off... take a butter knife and pry the small grey plastic clips off the left and right side of the small part the sprayer arm hangs from. You will see it may have significant wear. Just pop the new part on and clip the sprayer arm back on. The part in the above link is no. 5If the aboe link doesnt work... go to www.searspartsdirect.com and search Holder PART NUMBER: DD61-00228A
Hope this helps.

Same problem but mine is less than 4 months old. Samsung customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with too. Everyone just wants to read from a script and not answer you directly on the phone, or just stop talking to you on online chat, or (better yet) they will call you once about your service appointment. Can't pick up right away for any reason? Don't worry they will close your ticket so you have to go through the whole thing again.

A Samsung dishwasher would be a terrific Christmas gift for someone you truly hate. If I was going to Benito Mussolini's birthday party, I would buy him a Samsung dishwasher.

Same problem here with a samsung dmt300. When uyou go to buy the parts, don;t be fooled by parts that appear the same. i got some from a different model and they fit but didn't work well. other parts didn't fit at all. they change the dimensions of things slightly. I thinj they try t make the spray arms just a little cheaper each new model. now i need to find all new spray arms or the water pressure will be off somewhere down the line.
I wish I knew what other models had the same parts.

Will order new part using the link above but have to add my 2 cents. This is a really nice LOOKING machine, very quiet and reasonably priced. All that is left to be desired is a working dish layout rack and engineering to insure it actually cleans dirty dishes. Really. I am so disappointed in this machine. It is a POS.

If I have not been repairing this dishwasher myself, I'd have tossed it years ago. Second time on the referenced part but main problem is having to pull the unit about 5 times to clean the container that holds the float sensor. PIA

I have a Samsung too and my upper spinner has just fallen off and although I snap it back on, it comes right back off. This is a POS machine. I will never again buy anything Samsung, should have known. It looks like a great machine but I do not like how I have to load the dishes. I'd rather have the basic dishwasher inside racks than what I have, everything is slanted and I can't stand it. Dishes have to be handwashed have the time from Cascade forming a paste inside dispenser ruining the stainless steel case inside. I have a part number of DD62-00062A but can't find the part anywhere online! Even if I buy it, it might not work, this is a lose-lose situation.

I have the same machine, same problem. Your upper arm has worn out. When it get's clogged with food, the water pressure is too much for it. Her'es a link to the correct part. http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/U...

SOURCE: upper spray arm falls off during operation, even after snapping

the clips that hold it in place are worn. you will have to replace it. they are not very expensive. to remove it simply unscrew the round disc above the arm

Testimonial: "Wish one could buy just the clip and not the whole assembly, but it is not expensive."

SOURCE: lower and upper spray arm will not turn

If the spray arm is not binding due to worn out plastic bushings, then it could be a lack of water pressure, because it is water pressure which makes the arm turn.
Give it a gentle tap in a clockwise direction,,does it spin easily?
If it does,,then it will be lack of water pressure that will be the cause.
Possible pump wear or failure.

SOURCE: du1145xtpq top spray, and upper spray arm don't

sounds like the chopper is plugged or broken. remove the lower spray arm by holding tab with a set of plyers and turn spray arm counter clockwise. then where the middle spray arm attaches at the back of tub remove screw. turn the housing on pump to the right side of the machine( its easier to pull top rack out a bit so that whole housing can move) it will turn a little bit to be released from top of pump. then take out the torx screws that hold the housing and filter on. in the sump there will be one or two more smaller torx screws remove those and remove coverings to the chopper. check to see if the mesh is plugged with food and other things. clean. also check to see if blade turn with the motor impeller. if not then the chopper needs to be replaced. good luck

Mod m.d.c.5100aww ser28126829ax I had a repairman come out. He said the "sprayers" are plugged. I'm on a fixed income. With my bills I can't afford to get it fixed. Trying to fix it myself. I...

Most dishwashers dispense the detergent via gravity and the sprayer arms spraying against the soap dispenser once the little door flips open during the wash cycle. Since it sounds like the soap door is opening I would look at the sprayer arms and make sure they are free of food particles or other debris that might be keeping them from rotating and spraying properly. Here are some instructions for performing this check.

Remove the lower dishrack from the unit. Reach into your dishwasher and spin the lower spray arm. Take note of whether or not the arm moves freely or if its movement is restricted. It should not be restricted in its path of motion. Now gently pull up on an end of the spray arm. The spray arm should be free to wobble up and down. Unscrew the arm retaining knob (some of these are left hand threads) and take the arm out for inspection and carefully examine the spray arm seams. If they have split or are damaged, the dishes may not receive the amount of water pressure required to fully clean the dishes or to rotate the arm properly. What’s more, if water is in fact spraying out of the spray arm from its seams, it is possible that it can cause your dishwasher to leak. Make sure there is no debris in any of the holes.

If your dishwasher has a spray tower, pull up on it as far as it will go and then let it fall back down. Again, this movement should not be restricted. It should be a fluid and smooth motion. Also, unscrew the spray tower and examine it for any debris or foreign objects. Remove any that you find.
Gain access to the upper spray arm by removing the upper dishrack. Perform the same tests for the upper spray arm as you just did for the lower spray arm. Keep in mind that the upper spray arm may not wobble as much as the lower spray arm.
On a final note, some dishwasher models have a water tube that meets up with the upper spray arm once the upper dishrack is pushed back. It is a good idea to check to make sure this tube is aligning properly with the upper spray arm and that this has not split or is damaged in any other way.

The upper spray arm keeps falling off during the wash cycle. It seems to click firmly into place when put back. Is there a problem somewhere else in the machine?

Make & model would be really helpful... but without that... I'd guess you have an OBSTRUCTION that the "spay arm" is conflicting with...

Check the clearances of all the contents with your moving parts...

or try emptying your machine. Trying it in that configuration.

Failing that... replace the arm.

Frigidaire dishwasher - upper spray arm trouble?

I do not have a problem w/the upper arm not spinning. Rather, the upper arm keeps falling off of my frigidair dishwasher. The owner's manual suggests the upper arm is a single unit. However, the upper arm component is comprised of 3 parts. The parts are an arm that distributes the water, the base that screws to the top of the dishwasher, and a small plastic type washer that rides in the base and literally holds the arm to the base. The plastic washer has two small clips that tend to wear or contrast with age; thus letting the arm fall off on a very frequent basis.

Potentially, the small plastic washer piece may have broken in the base assembly and is not allowing the arm to turn. As water flows into the arm from a hole in the base; suggesting the plastic washer may be jammed with a foreign item seems less likely. The base unit screws to the top of the dishwasher and can be removed by hand (the base is a little tight). There are no mechanical pieces to my third (upper) arm; movement of the arm is accomplished with water flow.

You may wish to remove the arm assembly and check for a broken washer or a foreign item in the assembly. As a side note, I found that I can unscrew the base and remove the assembly without removing the top dish tray. The fit is a little tight but the tedium of pulling and reinstalling the top tray can be eliminated by unscrewing the assembly w/the tray slid forward for assembly access.

Hope all you have is a foreign item that is locking the washer.

Upper Spray Arm Fell Off

If you are referring to the arm on the top of the dishwaser (not the one under the top basked) it snaps in. What probably happened is that it fell off and the plastic nut flipped around. The gray plasting thing on the top (that looks like a flower) will unscrew and you can turn the nut around and snap it back on and then re-attach the entire piece.

Parts shop nearby?
