Lots of dirt on filter

With no disrespect, be grateful it is on the filter and not in the pump or hose system.. these filters need to be cleaned routinely on an 'as required' basis ..which will vary from user to user. All dishwashers have a filter, screen or trap to protect the pump from the by product of washing.. otherwise this material would damage components or clog the system to a point that it would no longer work..
