I have a 2001 Cavalier Coupe, I am having problems with the air condition. Freon was added, that evening the air condition started to work. The next day, I turned on the air condition, no cold air. I was told there was no leaks. What should I do?

There is a power distrobution box under the hood containing relays and a few heavy duty fuses.
I'd take the cover off and find the A/C relay usually depicted in the diagram inside the cover.
Start the car, turn the A/C switch on and then under hood at A/C relay give it a light tap with the handle of a screwdriver to see if compressor clutch on compressor "kicks on".
Relay can even be pulled out and put back in to make a better connection.
I'm betting the problem is that relay...or dirty contacts.

Hope this helps...

Air conditioning blows hot one side and cool on other

Had a similar problem. It was in a 2001 Bonneville (GM product also) and it did NOT have dual climate control. Believe it or not, it just needed the freon topped off. Apparently, some evaporation coil designs allow the freon to evaporate too quickly on one side if the freon pressure us low. Then the other side of the coil is warm and that side of the car blows warm. Try adding some. It won't hurt as long as it is not overpressurized. And that won't happen with the cans you buy at the store.

My air conditioner works but does not cool . i have added freon the last two years and fixed the problem ,did the same thing this year but did not help .

When self adding freon after it leaks out you get air trapped in the system. After adding freon a couple of times the air expands not leaving room for the needed freon. To continue adding freon with air tapped will knock the compressor out pretty quickly, there's not enough room for both & the air is keeping the freon from being able to cool properly give the false indication of being low on freon. The freon you are adding has the dye added to assist in finding the leak since freon does not evaporate nor dissipate it its being leaked out. A black light will assist locating the leak. The best thing is to have the unit checked & serviced by a mechanic...he'll charge about $ 150.00 to check for leaks, remove the old freon...his machine will tell him how much air its trapped in the system by how little freon is removed. For the service fee he will replace valves & gaskets, where needed, correcting most leaks. After sucking the system down & recharging the problem should be corrected.

Did not cooling at summer just heathing

I apologize if I'm misinterpreting what you're asking, but it sounds like an issue with the Air Conditioning system, and could either be low on freon or a bad compressor. Adding freon you may be able to do yourself, but you have to be careful not to overfill.

Toyota echo 2003 air conditioner stoped working.ac button dosn't show power on led.7.5 fuse is ok.what's next?

Ok if your air conditioning system has lost the freon leak and the compressor does not start even if you have well I recommend the fuses check if you have full charge of freon in the system and then wanted another cause. Thanks

1999 Chevy Cavalier A/C blows hot air

More likely the recharge blew a o-ring and you have a leak. When your Cavalier was blowing hot air and a recharge fixed it that means it was low on freon which lets o-rings dry out, go back to the shop and have them leak test it. They use a pressurized dye to find the problem. If it's blowing it's not the cooling fan relay, they may have meant compressor relay but I'd have a leak test done first it's not expensive and easier that chasing unknown possibilities.

AC is not working

Sounds like the A/C system just needs to be recharged. When was the last time you had this done? Just take it in to your mechanic and he can do it for you and if that's not it for some reason, then he will be able to find the problem but most likely you need more freon added.

Hi, my best advise is to have your air check for freon leaks ,low freon causes the compresor cluth to stop working ,this can cause the air to blow hot .......
