Tip & How-To about Garden

Small engines

Most people I have talked to have never changed oil in their power equipment since they purchased it.Save big bucks by changing your oil after the first 10 hours of use and then every fifty hours after that. This will save you allot of money in the long run.

Hey there 99 grand dam oil is full .but oil lamp flashes on and runs like champ starts easy has power but it sounds like a big big wheel toy rapping. as soon as i accellerate. Is it blown up or. if i change oil pump will it save it. the motor only has hundred thousand on it.

I would say from your description that the low oil pressure is from a failed big end bearing or a main bearing. Changing the oil pump will not save it and if you continue to run the engine the end result will be a hole in the side of the block

Oil Change proceedure. Where is the oil pan drain

The drain plug will be at the lowest part of the oil pan. I would recommend you take it to a shop, if you cant seem to find it. If its not right, you can damage the engine, and thats a pretty big price for trying to save a few bucks.

is it easy to change oil myself in my hyundai 2002 sonata

yes it very easy if you have all the tools and a small ramp you can drive the car up on. today my opinion its not worth changing your own oil anymore unless you enjoying get down dirty and greasy. us "mechanic" don't even change or own oil. most places now offer oil change for 19.95 to 29.95. take your car which will take 4.5 quarts of oil and it will cost you, 2.25 each would come to 10.00 bucks, filter 8.00 buck and now you have 19.00 bucks. Im assummed this will be your first oil change, you will need to by the oil filter removal tools, two small car ramp, oil pan and a big container to storage your used oil. you will have close to 100 buck on the tools. if you plan to change your oil regularly, than it would be good investment in the tools. even though oil change is 29.95 to me it worth paying some one 10 bucks to get underneath that car and have them do the oil change. hope that help some

OIL CHANGE

In the oil pan located at the very bottom of the engine. The drain bolt is at the lowest point on the pan. Be careful to not strip out the bolt when replacing after your oil change. Big problem and big bucks to repair. Take your car to an oil change specialist instead. It'll be cheaper on you in the long run.
