Tip & How-To about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

Cleaning out your Xbox 360

So your xbox is making some loud noises. Or maybe its overheating or maybe its not reading discs properly (or at all). Well those problems can usualy be solved by simply cleaning out your console. However, we want to avoid opening the console up and voiding its well-needed warranty. So instead of opening it, simply blow it out. Not with your mouth because that would be slow, not effective, and isn't probably good to breathe in all that dust that comes out (you'll be surprised how much stuff gets in there after a couple months).

So take an air compressor (or a handy can of compressed air), and let the pressure build and the PSi rise but not rise enough to be a threat to any of our beloved parts inside the console (we're only blowing out the accumulated dust). Now, simply blow out your console from the all sides and watch as dust flies everywhere!

Now hopefully, this trick helped solve some problems listed above.

xbox 360 console can't read disk

If your console has stopped reading discs this can be because the receptors on the back of the drive have overheated and to fix it you will need to send it in or use a good repair guide to do the job.

benq drive

something within the xbox could have been shifted. Also, maybe your disc is not completely centered on the tray.

disc tray

Not entirely sure but maybe the disk drive bricked, though I wouldn't replace it without looking into it more.  But it would make sense consider the noises.  Was there anything attached to the disc or was the disc damaged after this incident?

Disc Tray.

From what I no when the 360's light indicated flashes yellow it means it's overheated, try letting cool down.  I have had so many problems with my 360 and the cdrom drive is number 1.  When my drive started making all that noise i almost started to cry.  What i did was called the Xbox Helpdesk and they fixed the problem right away.  Call the Xbox Helpdesk at this number: 1-800-469-9269 (This munber will get you through faster).  if you ahve any more questions just let me know....
