It could be a defective battery or it might just be normal for the charger and it lets you know its charging. Look in the manual for the tool and it should tell you why it blinks and turns off. If you dont have the manual i'm sure you can look it up online.

One flash mean ignition failure. The sequence is: T-Stats calls for heat, inducer motor comes on, igniter glows orange (look through glass), then gas comes on and burner lights, approximately 1 minute later the indoor blower comes on. If you don't see the glow, most likely the igniter is bad. If you see the glow but no flame, it's a gas problem, supply or defective valve.

Make sure the Thermostat fan switch is in the "auto" position.

I suspect water in the fuel that is freezing up due to the pressure difference across the jet and causing a blockage.

check the fuel is igniting correctly as if there is fuel going into the hot box and not burning then you will be getting a build up of un burnt fuel which will make a lot of noise until it is burnt ( LIke an engine running on too much choke).
