This computer is an excellent computer. I actually happen to have it. If I understand your question correctly, you are asking if it is good and where to buy it?
Yes it is good. Very fast and sleek.
Buy it at amazon.com
The shadowing is an old technique. It means (if I remember correctly) that a copy of the BIOS and Video BIOS is stored on the RAM for quicker access. It should be nothing to worry about. The worst thing is that you dropped your laptop! I suspect that when you dropped it, you broke something internally. Without actually seeing the laptop, I cant tell you exactly what the problem is. I would try wiping the drive and reinstalling the OS. That should tell you if its the hard drive. (Although it is an unconventional way to find out). Also, depending on whats broken internally, it may or may not be salvageable, but it never hurts to try.
Many reasons can effect your internet connectivity and constant data transfer. As its a vast topic to discuss, i would like to help you with a feature on the net. Please read and hope this will help you resolve... Good luck.
It is my experience that many memory problems, when not specific to physically broken modules, are driver related. Have you attempted restoring your drivers for the memory in question from the "Utilities and Tools" disk(s) usually supplied with a laptop at point of purchase? If you don't have them Acer can supply them if you contact them through their support site. [site: support.acer.com]
If you do have the disk(s) in question I would attempt reinstalling the chipset utility first. Then installing the specific driver for the PCMCIA cardbus controller.
A secondary method, if you have a working internet connection for the laptop in question, would be to enter "Device Manager" and select the PCI flash memory unit that isn't working. Odds are it will have a "bang" mark next to it [a black exclamation mark in a yellow circle]. Double clicking on it will give an option to update the drivers. The OS software will search the internet for the appropriate driver(s) and install them. I've found this works about half the time.
The inverter is located at the base of the screen, under the plastic screen bezel, and it looks like a small circuit board which is approx a half inch wide and 4 to 6 inches long. To remove the bezel, you will need to take out the screws that are hidden under the sticky tabs the same color as the bezel or the rubber bumpers on the bezel, then the bezel will snap off. Be careful not to break it at the corners when it snaps off. Once you have the bezel off you will be able to see the inverter, simply disconnect it, and it comes right out. I generally get all inverters for my shop from Ebay, you can find the best prices there. So, I recommend Ebay, and you can also do a froogle.com search for the inverter. You can always go through Acer to get one, but they are going to be considerably more expensive.
The things that could prevent the signal from being strong are: -Many layers of walls in your home. -Interference from wireless phones,remote controls,radios,etc.. -Distance from your router
What company made your router, and what is the model number of it?
Can you link me to your laptop you bought from acer.com?
Also I need: 1.Computer type (laptop/desktop) 2.product name (Aspire 1300)
Question edited for clarity and toss in a few CAPS.
Question moved to Acer Aspire category.
There a few issues that can cause this, the obvious one is that the battery has failed internally, but it can also be a charging software issue. Try this. Unplug from the mains supply. Remove the battery. Leave the computer for 2 hours. Press and hold the power button for a full 2 minutes. Replace the battery, plug back in, count to 10 and power it back up.
Has the motherboard battery ever been changed? They are critical to the health of the motherboard and the machine in general.

If you have no internal hard drive installed you won't get it to work correctly as the hard drive is where the data is stored for the operating system.
Estimado Carlos,
1 - Desarmar la computadora, y sacar el disipador de calor com mucho cuidado de sobre el procesador;
2 - Limpiar bien entre las ranuras del disipador de calor, sacandose todo el polvo y suciedad del mismo ya que el polvo ayuda a mantener el calor y sobrecalentar el procesador;
3 - Limpiar muy bien las rejillas de entrada/salida de aire, sacandose todo el polvo y suciedad,
4 - Rearmar el disipador sobre el procesador, pasando entre ellos una delgada camada de pasta termica plateada, que se puede comprar en tiendas de suminsitros y partes de computadoras (NOTA: no instale el disipador sobre el procesador sin pasar la pasta termica, porque podra' seguir sobrecalentandose);
5 - Rearmar la computadora.
Caso usted no tenga facilidad en armar y desarmar la computadora, seria bueno contactarse con un tecnico de su confianza para hacer ese trabajo para usted.
!Espero que esa respuesta pueda haberle sido util!

mute the speakers if still sounds noisy the fan inside is packed in lint and needs to be cleaned out or overeheating is bad news.
why not ask a shop to look into this.
we can take it apart (covers ) and user or stethoscope to hear noise.
a $5 tool that is. and all shops have one or DIY one.
I put my hear to hDD casings me,
i use tube and put it near the fan vent to hear it scream.
there is no other way besides unplugging all that 1 by one to hear it go silent.
this is SOP, vast PC's pack up in lint and fail.
