Aspire Digital AD-8091 DVD Recorder Questions & Answers
Recording purchased vhs tape to dvd recorder.
How old is the VHS tape? I've had success recording older movies, but the newer ones have encryption to prevent duplication of them. I've even tried playing them on another VCR and transmitting the signal with a wireless audio/video transmitter but unfortunately the encryption is still there. If you can copy the tape to another tape, then it may not have encryption. If that's the case, check you A/V inputs to see if you have them setup right.
Only hear audio no picture
Make sure you are on the matching video input that the audio is on. (Ex, input 1 aud/vid as opposed to audio on input 1 and video on input 2). Double check the output side on the Aspire as well.
Front face panel buttons inoperable
check the owner manual for this model as it may have a keyboard lockout feature which would explain why you have this issue, take care of the remote that does work.....

I lost the remote for this dvd player Aspire model
Unfortunately the original replacement remote for your unit is no longer available. You can purchase the recommended substitute on a number of remote replacement websites. Here is a link for one of them:
http://remotes.com/store/aspire_digital/ad8091.htmlAs mentioned on that page the replacement remote is missing the ANGLE, INTRO, and STEP functions. Frankly chances are you probably never used those keys as they are not common functions. You can also look into any one of the Universal Remotes that are available. You want to make absolutely sure that the remote you buy is or can be programmed for your specific model. If not you will be very limited in the functionality that the remote will give you. This may not be an issue for you if all you ever used your remote for was turning the unit on and off, and using the STOP, PLAY, and PAUSE features.
Dubbing vhs to dvd
Easy. Connect RCA lead from video/audio OUT on the VCR to video/audio IN on the DVD recorder. Set DVD recorder source to VIDEO then press play on the VCR and record on the DVD recorder.
No edit
have you finalized the disc before trying to play it in another player?
PSCAN
try unplugging it overnight.
Thanks,
Lee
No sound
I know everyone is going to say check you audio cable in back, but also what kind the cable jack is. there is one called an "S VIDEO" that will give a great picture but unless you are aware of what it is you would not realize you have to use the red and white "RCA" audio jacks in addition to it.
Can't power on
try unplugging the dvd player then plug it back in as this treats it like a reset.
