Yes you can and you can use the same key code that you own and as long as NO ONE else has that key code.

we do not provide product codes for software, the software company does. you will probably find that if the microsoft office on the computer was already installed then it is only a trial version and you need to buy a code. Alternatively, you can download open office for free and it will read and write all microsoft documents. you just have to select 'save as' rather than save or go into the options settings and have it save as microsoft documents by default.

Hi - To do a system restore you need the QuickRestore disc package that was provided with the machine. The restore would only be useful if you still had the factory installed operating system on your laptop.

I did a look around the HP/Compaq support site and didn't see any place to order the discs but I only spent a few minutes there so you might want to contact them. The support page for your PC is located HERE. It's an older machine and there's a strong possibility you can no longer get the discs.

Your best option would be to upgrade your machine to Windows XP (or reinstall it if that's what you had). I only suggest that version of Windows if you have 512 MB of RAM (the system probably came with 256 MB of RAM.
