If you refer to page 64 of the manual (see link below) you will see how to connect to PC with the USB port. The other method is to print to a Pictbridge compatible printer. You will use the same USB cable to connect to the printer PictBridge port. (this is not the same as the printer USB port which connects Printer direct to computer). See page 68 of manual. Base from the description of your problem and since you want to take the tape out from it but since the unit is not powering ON that will be not possible unless the unit is dismantle.
