The tray to my DVD player would not open. It says
Hi there! First of all, what is the brand name of the DVD Player? Don't know what advise you got but here are a few suggestions. The most common would be the little black rubber belt may have snapped or is worn out. This will result in total mechanical failure. The tray opens and closes and the the mech inside also needs to lift to bring the eye to the disc to start reading. If this motion inside does not occur when the tray is closed it can say " bad disc" or "blocked".It may also be a processing fault which in most cases will not be economical to repair. My advise is to first check the belt. Depending on the value of your machine it may be worth referring to a repairer. Regards and good luck, JUS004.

DVD won't play with Direct TV
Finally............. monkeying around with the remotes, we discovered the basic little remote that turns on our TV was the source of connection. We now hit AV twice, and Go Video works. Voila. It took quite a bit of time to try every possible angle, finally realising we needed to leave Direct TV Remote out of the equation. Just the Go Video remote and our basic little simple remote. Go figure!!!!!
For now, we are good. (knock on whatever:)

Can't load disc
as there is a small gears on both the sides of the door which gets a command to spin when you press the eject button as that gears are either worn out or got craked internally or are getting blocked due to any dust collected in between .if cracked or worn out replacement is necessary.but if got blocked due to dust particles just will have to open the unit by removing the screws from its top and back body and then cleaning the gears which will be easily seen internally.

Make sure your using the right Media E.G. dvd-r or dvd+r. Finally, swab the glass eye in side, near the spindle, with 90% alcohol.

The dvd rom does not open
it doesn't reconized the dvd-rom, but to open it, unplug it for 30-45 seconds. plug it back into the power strip/wall. At that same moment tap (2/3 times) the stop/eject button . do not press play (it will try to load automatically) . try it once more (if it do not open, this time a full minute) presto it should open.

No Disc
When the Dvd player cannot read a cd or dvd, it shows the "no disc" message.
The head laser of your Dvd player must be old if you get messages like that, replacement of the head laser may be necessary.

DVR 1600 Cyberhome-Recorder and Player
I called Sony, a different company and they will get back to me if they have anything compatable with this Cyberhome 1600 DVD Player (A Laser Pick Up Assembly), which by the way has the worst reviews known to man! I wish I had known this before I laid my money on the line!(smile)!

Sounds like your power supply. I had the same issue with mine. I researched this model and found out that the power supply was made with, how shall I say this delicately, less than sturdy components. Plus the unit does not have adequete cooling inside. There is a site that repairs the power supplies for a decent price. I was very impressed with the service and site instructions. Check them out.
