We are trying to make our Go Video DVD work with our new Direct TV. Would you please advise? We have used Go video before this with no problem, but don't know what isn't working, and Direct TV said to contact you. All the wires are hooked up, and the DVD player goes on and off....... just won't play on the Direct TV screen, even when moving our bar to AV1, as was advised. Please help us

Finally............. monkeying around with the remotes, we discovered the basic little remote that turns on our TV was the source of connection. We now hit AV twice, and Go Video works. Voila. It took quite a bit of time to try every possible angle, finally realising we needed to leave Direct TV Remote out of the equation. Just the Go Video remote and our basic little simple remote. Go figure!!!!!

For now, we are good. (knock on whatever:)

#dhb300b DVD player plays only black and white my TV is a JVC HD TV with HDMI cable from driver TV box hook up DVD to TV audivo to audivo video to video set TV to component program DVD to TV but plats

The yellow/red/white cables are COMPOSITE cables. COMPONENT cables are RED/BLUE/GREEN. You can buy those at any electronics store. Your best bet, though, is to stick with HDMI if you can.

My color TV has turned black and white however my DVD that is plugged into the receiver plays in color. What's going on?

When one asks questions involving two components it is always necessary to know the identity of both. "Color TV" is kind of generic.

Please define the TV and which direct video input on IT produces B/W and exactly how it is connected and from what specific source unit. Then try swapping something that works, say, the DVD, into the "B/W" input to see if that helps.

If you're using component video cables you could have one loose or defective.

How to set my DVD/VHS Govideo player...

If you used to put the TV on channel 3 to watch the videos that means you had this hooked up with the RF RG6 COAX cable. You most likely had this passing thru the cable box and then to the TV, but with the new digital format that may not work any more. A quick fix for this is to take the coax wire from the player and hook it up directly to the TV Cable port then flip your tv to 3 and it should work. If you have an older tv without the newer connections you may have this port already in use with the cable box - if that is the case you may need to get an RF switch or splitter. hope this helps

DVD plays in black and white

Which type of cable are you using to connect the DVD to the TV?

Composite video - yellow RCA?
Component video - red / green / blue RCA?
S-video?

This problem could occur if you are using composite video and have it plugged into one of the component video inputs.

Alternatively it could be that you are trying to play a PAL (European DVD) source into the NTSC input.

Component Video Problem

The problem is not with your tv it's with your dvd player. You have to go into the setup on the dvd player and change your output setting to component.
