Dear Sir:As you must understand the treadmill use the most advance electronic design.Please do the following:1)use contact cleaner(radio schack or whatever)2)Inspect the fuse.3)Tight the ribbon cable INSIDE from the keypanel(not the console)4)Tight the connector from the console going to the main board motor.check this block diagram for to see if anything can help you in the treadmill. This problem is as a result of a bad control panel. The control panel controls all the functions of the unit it accepts commands and executes them. Often times it would accept a command but not execute as a result of malfunctions on the control board. This is why a times it comes on and doesn't function. The control board is not totally bad but suffers from partial failure therefore the problems.
Best solution is to get the control board replaced this can be done by any service repair personnel or simply contact the nearest dealer for a repair person.

You must see with a volt meter, if you are getting arequired power. It can be weak motor or defective motor controller issue. The interiormotor links are loose or the belt is dried up use some basic lubing by grease.If the problem still exists then you may need to replace motor controller ormotor.

sounds like the belt needs lubricating or perhaps the moving parts inside.

the console's keypad overlay is bad and the console will need replaced

you will need to test the red wire coming to the console with a volt meter to see if you are getting the required 9-12 vdc if you are replace the console, if not replace the controller. Now if just the buttons are not working replace the console. You can get a console from iconservice.com
