Drivers windows xp audio conexant

It looks as though this laptop shipped with Windows Vista meaning that there may not be older drivers for some of the hardware in it. I found a few forum posts mentioning that they had audio working on XP but it sounded like it was auto installed upon installation of Windows. Does the volume icon by the clock allow you to turn the volume up and down or does it say there is no device available? If you can adjust the volume get back to me ASAP it is probably a software issue. If you CAN'T adjust the volume it is either a hardware or driver issue so try the steps listed Go to the device manager (Start>Run then type mmc devmgmt.msc) Under sound, video, and game controllers see if there are any exclamation points or anything that looks amiss and we can go from there.

Display PXE-E61: Media Failure, Check Cable

The error PXE-E61: Media test failure usually means the hard disk has failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

I did lost disk 1of2 Restore DVD MX8741

My best suggestion would be to contact Gateway here and inquire about acquiring the replacement disk for your set. If they offer them, there will more than likely be some sort of charge. Sometimes companies will ship these out for the cost of shipping, other times, the charges are higher, it all depends. Judging by the age of the machine, if the cost becomes too great, I would suggest investing your money into a new computer.

Gateway Laptop MC8741 will not

Start taking your laptop apart piece by piece and test it after each removed component:
1. Remove the hard drive and test the laptop.
2. Remove the DVD drive and test the laptop.
3. Remove the wireless card and test the laptop.
4. Unplug the display panel from the motherboard/video card and test the laptop.
etc....
Continue taking it apart until you have only three major components connected: motherboard (with video card), processor, and memory. If you still experience the same problem, most likely it's bad motherboard.
By the way, before you start, try reconnecting the memory module. If you have two modules installed, try removing them one by one and test the laptop with each one separately

I need to factory restore

Not enough information to answer. Need manufacturer and specific model number before we can help. Generally, though, laptops come with one of three ways to restore. 1. The manufacturer supplies a restore disk. This can be a self-booting image of the original load, or it can be an OS disk and an accompanying drivers disk that needs to be installed to restore the unit. 2. The manufacturer provides an application on the drive that the user is supposed to use at the time of purchase to create a set of recovery disks. This application is usually a 1-time-only thing and you cannot make multiple recovery sets with the app, but you can burn copies of the disk(s) you make. 3. The manufacturer places a hidden recovery partition on the hard drive that allows the user to restore the original factory image. There is usually a hotkey combination written into the BIOS that will divert the boot to the recovery sector when pressed at bootup. Some manufacturers offer both options 2 and 3. But if you got a set of recovery disks at time of purchase, chances are there is no recovery partition on the drive. Recovery partitions are nice and convenient until the problem is the hard drive itself. If you can provide a specific model number, we may be able to better determine which type of recovery option(s) are available for you PC.

My touchpad is unresponsive

Step 1: Locate the "Fn" key in the lower right or left corner of the laptop keyboard. The "Fn" key typically has different colored text on it or the key itself is a different color. Locate the function (F1 through F12) key at the top of the keyboard that disables or enables the touchpad on the laptop. The key typically has an icon that resembles a touchpad with a finger touching it or a touchpad with a diagonal line through it. Press both the "Fn" and touchpad Function key simultaneously to reactive the touchpad on your laptop. Move your finger along the touchpad to verify that it works. Press the combination at any time to disable the touchpad again.

Itunes wont open

A corrupt iTunes library prevents the iTunes program from opening and prevents Apple device synchronization. According to Apple, the iTunes library must be rebuilt, which resets the library and removes the current content in the media manager. Back up your media prior to recreating the library, as the recreating process erases all content and your Apple device will synchronize with the blank, recreated library and erase the device's information. Insert the DVD-RW disc into the computer's DVD-RW drive, and open iTunes. Click "File," "Library" and "Backup to Disc." Select the iTunes library and playlist backup and click "Next." Eject the disc after the backup completes, and close out of iTunes. Move "iTunes Music Library.xml" from your iTunes folder to the desktop. Right-click "iTunes Library" and click "Delete." Launch iTunes and click "File," "Library" and "Import Playlist." Locate and double-click the iTunes Music Library.xml file. Insert the burned disc into the DVD-RW drive and click "Restore." or Fix iTunes if It Won't Open on Your Computer b> You've clicked and clicked and clicked some more, but iTunes just refuses to launch. A non responsive program is frustrating to any computer user, but especially if all you want to do is listen to some music or download a new album. If iTunes isn't opening, there are many possible causes for this error. None of these fixes will affect your current music collection. Though you may need to tweak or reinstall some software, your MP3s will stay right where they are. Confirm that your Apple device is connected securely to your computer. If you are not trying to access iTunes via an Apple device, or if your device is connected correctly, continue to step two. Configure your firewall to allow iTunes to connect to the Internet. Many firewalls block software programs' ability to get online as a security precaution. This is because some spyware and malware is designed to transmit personal data from your computer. Making iTunes a trusted program within your firewall software is necessary for it to function properly. Create a new iTunes library file. An unstable or corrupted library file can cause iTunes to suddenly quit or not open at all. Recreating a library file is a lengthy process that depends heavily on the operating system you are using. See the iTunes Support page under. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451 Reinstall iTunes on your computer. If no other troubleshooting steps are successful, then the fastest way to solve the problem is to start from scratch. Hope this helps. b>

I have a Gateway laptop, MX8739, that will not power on

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact. Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.
