I have a yamaha 125cc.that will start but won't stay running. more details please. 1. if it starts can you rev it 2. how long does it run for 3.can you start it every time after it stops

loss of power... just bought the scooter,been stood a while so ive been told.starts great revs great.when you pull off its ok for about 100+ yards then you have to let go of the revs and free wheel ...
