cannot get drive axle out of transmission On the inner axle shaft is a round retaining ring that keeps it in place. It will not come off from were its at and only when the axle is out in front of you.

...do you have to remove the front bumper you should be able to get to it from under the hood - maybe crowed under there but take a good look ...
