top and what type of fluid is used? This is not a low fluid problem, this a contorl motor problem. I had a 1989 Z24 conv. and the same thing happened. I replaced the motor and the top worked just fine

you should see screw type check plug.you should have see through side reservoir fluid level should be between min and max marks.if fluid is low check for leaks at the pump hoses and hydralic cylinders
