fn buttom is not working Ehm you must hold down the fn key while pressing another, just a tip maybe you are doing this , normally they always work.

are you using an external mouse? If you're using the trackpad, it may be as simple as using the Fn keys and the corresponding F keys at the top of the keyboard to enable the trackpad feature again
