Hello. Welcome to FixYa. Please allow us to assist you.

The factory recommendation for oil changes is every 5,000 miles; that is based on normal driving.

If you are operating the vehicle in mountainous terrain, or towing a trailer, we would recommend changing the oil every 3,500 miles.

3 months interval or after every 3000 miles would be an recommended change by oil companies.

But i personally prefer 4 months interval or after every 3000 miles whichever is earlier would do.

Timing chain or belt in 2004 toyota sequoia

Yes.
It has a belt. Service interval is 90,000 miles. This is an interference engine, so belt failure will result in a scrapped engine.
Cost should be around $600-$700. I would recommend replacing the water pump as well, as the timing belt needs to come off to to replace the water pump, and I wouldn't trust the pump to last 180k.
