If its a transverse motor such as my 1993 pontiac gp...you unbolt dog bone motor mounts on the engine side and make sure you leave the car in park ...pull car forward towards you and you can lock it in place with the eye holes on the dog bones just use the bolts from the mounts...bam ....oh also if you are a big guy like me u should also take out the alternator gives you alot more range of motion rather than contorting yourself to fit...trust me i got bruises on my arms from not taking it off...

Change spark plugs

The 2nd, 4th, and 6th plugs are on the front of the 2002 Buick Rendezvous and are easily accessible. However, the 1, 3, and 5 plugs are located on the back lower part of the engine and are only accessible from underneath the vehicle. Use a vehicle ramp or jack stands to elevate the vehicle then the plugs will be easier to access.

In any event, the number 1 plug is the hardest to reach - you will most likely need an extension for your socket wrench in order to reach it. Be patient when pulling at the plug wires to avoid damaging them.

Plug turned a 1/4 turn and locked down didnt want to force it

no dont force spark plug its trying to cross thread.back spark plug back out.apply thin coat of anti seize compound to spark plug threads.if you have problems getting spark plugs back in a hard to reach place, use a long piece 3/8 vacuum hose about what ever length you need.place vacuum hose over spark plug insulator then install spark plugs to hard reach places to keep from cross threading.if plug tighten 1/4 turn.back out spark plug and try again.dont cross thread or you have to remove cylinder head.if spark plug hole hard to reach to retap or install thread inserts.

Changing spark plugs in the 2001 Chevy Venture and the three spark plugs in the back are hard to get to. How do you do it?

well yes they are, here is how we mechs do it. either on a lift and from ender neath the vehicle, and if this is not possible then we take the upper dog bone looking mounts off the engine and pull the engine forward by the use of a ratchet strap, this gives us more room in there for tools, and also makes it easier to reach. good luck

PROCESS OF TAKING THE TRANSMISSION OUT.DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE MOTOR OUT ?

Usually not. As long as you can reach all the bolts that connect the transmission to the motor, then, no. There are usually two near the top of the bellhousing, near the floor and firewall, that are hard to reach (and hard to swing a wrench on), but (at least on the cars I have worked on) they are easier to get out than to pull the engine.

Now, if you are pulling the motor, on many cars it is easier to also pull the transmission with the motor, than to try to separate them and also support the transmission once the engine is unbolted. But the transmission is usually easier to pull by itself.

To change plugs on a 2005 tuscon 6 cylinder do you need to take the dome off to get atthe rear plugs

Most cars now have a plastic cover over the engine. Generally to reach the back plugs, vacuum hoses, etc. you have to remove the cover. Most can be "unsnapped" by lifting straight up on them. Typically the oil filler tube is helping to hold them down. The filler tube should come of by turning to release it (unscrewing - may be clockwise). I would suggest putting the oil filler back on to avoid contamination in the oil. This will make reaching the back plugs significantly easier.

Rear spark plugs hard to get to.

These are hard to reach. I have replaced a few of them myself. I use the elbow extensions on the socket. Sometimes it is easier to use two of the elbow joints on the socket wrench extensions.
