Springer classic clicks when trying to start

Make sure the battery is fully charged. Contrary to what some people will tell you, Harley batteries are not fully charged when shipped to dealerships. I work at a dealership and it normally takes a full 8 hour shift to charge a new battery that fits your bike. The clicking sound in normally caused by a low battery. Good luck!

My 85 maxim will start if u push it and continue to start the rest of the day but once it cools down you will have to push it again any ideas

Sounds like you battery isn't holding charge overnight. If it was the alternator, it wouldn't start during the day so the alternator sounds fine.

Make sure the battery that is on it is the right one for the bike.

Try taking the battery off the bike and using a battery charger to charge it overnight. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid it's going to need a new battery.

Good Luck

Charged battery, then checked out put was on 11.3 an it should be 14.4 or better where do i start ?

11.3 indicates that your staring out with a low battery.

a fully charged battery should be at least 12.5 volts before you even start the bike.
Once the bike is started the voltage meter should read 12.8 + volts at an idle.
Once the bike is reved to 2000 RPM the voltage meter should read 13.75 - 14.80 Volts.

I would start withe a good battery. Have it load tested before you install it to ensure it is a good battery. Your local auto parts store load test them for free.

Fail to start

I think I would change the petrol in the tank as it may have become a bit stale. Also I would replace the battery.Make certain the replacement battery in fully charged before you try again.

Hi My motorcycle Hero Honda Dawn had problem at the time of starting a journey. The bike showing some Power missing alternatively . But it will solve after 10 minutes of ride, What is the problem Is it...

possible weak battery? its better after a run... when it's charged a bit off the alternator. it's possibly not holding the charge overnight and being a bit sluggish in the morning... have it checked - a half charged battery makes a half charged coil... zap? . which will spark but not quite so good as a fully charged coil ZAP!
also check the plug for oil fouling and check if the oil level is too high - if so drain the oil down to the Full mark - this can happen after a lot of failed starting attempts as unburned petrol gets past the cylinder into the sump, filling it up... If THIS has happened you need to change the oil and filter, oil full of petrol does not lubricate the engine!!! - I think its 10W30 for your bike, it takes about 2 pints.
Sounds like its almost definitely electrical tho...

1993 Kawasaki 750R - Charging issue - Weird!!!

i know this sounds silly ,but when you bought the battery had it been activated, new batterys are critical in their first charge and you cannot use a standare type automotve charger,if bought dry the battery needs to have the acid filled ,left to sit for at least 2 hours prior to charging, once it has sat for the 2 hrs with the acid in,the new battery will need to be charged with a "cteck"or similar type charger for at least 13 hrs before it can be put into normal service, what happened with yours i think is that sure you gave it a charge but it has only recieved a "surface charge"and will be usable for a very short time,it may recover for a brief period and go again untill the surface charge dissipates,(or in other words ..runs out of charge)best thing you can do with the battery is take it to a auto electrician and have the battery cycled and conditioned, this is not expensive to do and will give you piece of mind, after conditioning the battery shouldngive excellent service,i have the battery in my goldwing coditioned about every 12 months and i have the same battery that was in the bike when i bought the bike 8 years ago and still no electrical or battery problems(costs about $25 to get it done)once a year but that beats $280 for a new one...hope this helps

Bike wont stay running

If the bikes charging system is not working there will be no power to the coils, and no spark (once the battery is drained). Try putting a good, fully charged battery in the bike and check the charging system.

There are certainly several things that could cause the symptoms you describe. Based on the information you have provided that is what I would check first.

Electrical problem with my tre-k 1130

came out of the coffee shop went to start the bike and the battery didn't have enough power to turn over the motor....I pushed started it but it didn't want to stay running once I put it in gear. Last night charged the battery and today put it in the bike and it started right up....rode it for about 45 minutes waited for about half an hour before starting it up again and it started , no problem. I am thinking that maybe it is the voltage regulator or maybe the alternator....can anyone help me out with this? ,If you have a multimeter, you need to test the electrical output of the charging system. (Check the voltage of the battery when the bike is revving at about 2000 rpm) If you don't have a multimeter, the best thing to do probably is to take the bike to an Autozone or similar car place where they will test the battery and charging system for free,,,
