There is a few 10 mm bolts on the bottom left side of the airbox that you must remove first - then proceed to the carb cover - open it and remove the bolts that hold the carb directly to the airbox - it should slide out to the passenger side of the bike if you remove the one vent hose from the airbox.

SOURCE: motorcycle starts idles good. runs

I suspect coil / wire / spark plug cap issues. Start with plugs and plug caps. Start the bike at night and observe coils and wires . Spray coils and wires with water if necessary to look for arcing wires. If coils are bad you may have to get Accell coil kit(comes with wires and caps). Honda coils are no longer available.

I have a taotao 50 scooter nd i got water n the carborater

Easy fix. Take the intake flexible pipe from the gas tank and drain out the fuel. .Then remove the carburetor bowl. Used compressed air to clean. Remove the spark plugs individually an blow compressed air back through the pistons. Add a starting accelerant to dry the heads. Add new gas with a clean up solution for the gas. start and run. Fare well.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2008 XL1200

You will need to remove the fuel tank. The less fuel there is in the tank, the easier it is to do this. Remove the seat, then uncouple the quick release fuel line connection by pulling down on the chrome ring where the fuel line enters the fuel tank; the fuel line should pop free. You might want to place an absorbant rag underneath to catch any fuel that spills. Next, Follow the electrical wiring from the bottom of the tank rearward where it meets a connection plug behind the engine against the frame downtube. Disconnect this coupling and free the wire harness from the bike. There is a vent tube built into the bottom of the tank; unplug the fuel tank vent line rubber connection there. Remove the front and rear fuel tank mounting bolts. Once the tank is off the bike, turn it over on a soft, non-scratch material or pad. On the bottom of the tank you will see an oval plastic fitting where the fuel line and wiring harness attaches. Remove the eight or so Torx head screws and carefully remove the fuel pump assemble from the tank. You kind of have to twist and turn the unit to get it free; go easy. The fuel filter resides inside the tall translucent plastic housing. There is a clip attaching the filter housing to the fuel pump assembly. You can use a screw driver or suitable tool to remove the clip. Watch out or it will take off on you! After the housing is free, the fuel filter can be removed by slowly rotating the housing to free it from the o-rings that secure it. Remove the filter.
Reverse to reinstall.

CAN NOT USING A ATV CAUSE CARBORATER PROBLEMS. I brought my sons ATV in for service and was told that the carborater was the cause of the problem. However upon picking up the ATV it still did not turn...

Wherever you took that ATV, do not bring it there anymore! I do not know the extent of your problem but the tech is off his nut. IF it was a carburetor operation problem and rebuilding the carb was performed, letting it sit for two months is not going to affect the carburetor's operation.

If it sits for so long the fuel in the tank turns to varnish and clogs up fuel lines and can plug the carburetor's jets and needles, all you would need to do is spray carburetor cleaner to get rid of the varnish. If the tank's fuel is bad because it sat so long you may have to remove the tank, flush it and replace the fuel lines, then fill with fresh fuel.

If you can give me more information, I can help you further.

Install an airfilter on a 1999 Valkyrie Motorcycle 1520cc

Remove the front seat and there is bolt at the tank and at the frontof the tank, remove both bolts. Then lift the tank.. If you have an extra set of hands to hold the tank, you only have to lift it far enough to access the air filter housing underneath, without removing fuel line. If you must remove the fuel line, it's not that bad, but the extra set of hands would keep you from removing the lines and having to empty the tank. Don't use the oil impregnated filters, it won't get enough air. OEM works the best.
