Samsung SGH T309 IEMI: 35783500 247603 2 02, acquired in US want to operate in India at Airtell network. With a Airtell sim card it keeps on searching the network. It works with a sim card of Idea Cellular network. I think it is some frequency band problem, Do help, how to change the frequency band from 1800 Mhz. to 850 - 900 Mhz. I think these are the frquency bands alootted fro cluular services in India, I am not sure about frequency bands. Thanks.......RPSingh

It will automatically change to the band frequency that is being used by the sim card. There's no need to set it manually as long as your phone support that frequency. Be sure that in India there is a network provider the will work for your type of sim.

No, you don't need any specific setting if your phone already unlocked. Are you sure your phone already unlocked? If not you need to unlock it first using samsung t309 network unlock code and your phone will accept your airtel sim card after you put samsung unlock code in that phone.

I need a PUK code for my SGH-T309
A request for a PUK code ("Personal Unlocking Key") will appear on your phone if your SIM card PIN code is entered 3 consecutive times incorrectly.

Your SIM card will then become "PUKed" or Blocked. This is a security measure to protect your service.

You need to call the Customer Service department of your cell phone provider and they will give you the PUK code which will unblock your SIM card.

hi :) cause the sim card are diffrent country,your software was in diffrent country version. so made it phone cant read the card. u can reload the phone software to use the simcard. other way,just just buy another phone.
