Happens a lot to boats due to close prox to water , corrosion on both ends of battery cables , this corrosion looks like powdered white material and can occur even inside battery switches

99 VILLAGER AFTER WARMED UP IT CRANKS VERY SLOW TO START, SOMETIMES NEEDS A JUMP BUT BATTERY TESTS GOOD

Check oil level - appears get engine gets tight after warmup.

Also check battery - battery can test good but if car starts with a jump, does not say much for your battery.

Riding along it just shut off...when I try starting it again the engine will not turn over...but when I jump start it, it start right up ....1989 Nissan pick up truck

NO CRANK, it does NOT CRANK,
the starters is dead, slow .
this is a no crank, the job of the starter.
if it cant crank, it surely can never start, unless push started.
but the jumper starting is the easy way to replace the battery
so you did.

jump starts. so the battery is bad. in car.
end story.
there is one exception bad battery cables.
if you jumpted to the battery lugs, then the battery is bad
if you connected the minus jump clip to the car body
then the battery minus cable was bypass. and could be bad.
same with plus but i bet you didnt to funny things with PLUS.

1997 gmc sierra 3500 won't start

When you turn the ignition to start, do you hear the starter turning and the solenoid engaging the flywheel ? test your starter by jumping it and see if the engine turns over. If this works, then you might consider in checking fuel pressure. Do you have any codes in your ECM ?

I replaced the battery all the lights work but motor will not crank at all

if this was your problem before a new battery was installed, check the fusable link wire at the solenoid for it may have a internal break under the insulation
All cars have this inline link for fire protection to the engine

HAVE A 1996 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. EACH YEAR ABOUT DEC WHEN ITS REAL COLD SNAP JEEP WONT START AND LIGHTS ARE WEAK AND HAVE TO JUMP IT WITH PACK TO START.THEN RIDE AROUND TO CHARGE BATTERY AND WHEN COME TO...

Next time you replace your battery you need to find one with more cold cranking amps. It is much harder for the battery to produce the voltage needed in the cold. Batteries produce their peak amperage when new which may explain why you have no problems for a year.

New starter new battery still wont start last

Very likely the new battery is defective - it happens. If you have a know good new battery, then also connect a jumper from the battery negative to the block just to be sure its not a defective or loose ground cable.

try over riding the starter relay on the fender ,it has one there right?. dont go to a mechanic yet. the engine aint seized. if it doesnt have this relay then i would get the alternator tested. if you want to test it yourself it can be costly for the right equip. autozone usually tests for free. i dont know were you live so if theres not an autozone. let me know if you cant get it tested.
