I added led turn signals on the front. the OEM lights were three wire but the new lights are two wires. When I hooked them up the headlight fuse and bulb blows. What did I do wrong? I was under the impression all I had to do is connect to the flasher & the ground. Maybe what I thought was the ground really isn't.

your switch has gotten water in it, under the tumblers the connecters have been arking & caroading causing it to loose connection

sorry.. i don't know off the top of my head but super simple way to check.. get an electrical tester that pierces the wire and turns on a light.. ($5 at walmart--seriously) turn on left signal, check the wires.. the one that is flashing is your left signal... so on and so forth..
(this tool will be super handy in the future also)

SOURCE: Is there a way to hook up 4 way/emergency flashers
Not without seriously compromising the wiring harness and exposing wires to excessive corrosion. The turn indicator circuit starts at the signal fuse, voltage goes from the fuse to the flasher relay, through the relay to the turn indicator switch. The switch has a single input (voltage from the flasher) that may be routed by the switch one of two directions - the two left turn indicator lights OR the two right turn indicator lights, There is no position that routes voltage to both sets of lights, nor is there a provision in either the switch OR the wiring harness for one to be created. Police motorcycles have special wiring harnesses that intercept the leads between the switch and the lights, diode-protecting the turn indicator switch from voltages generated by a separate light control box, used to power flashing lights added during the assembly of the motorcycle, or by qualified installers during its conversion for police use.

Try this free download site. All the manuals are uploaded by Yamaha owners. There are a lot but not all, remember a lot of models do not change much over several years. There is a link to Yamaha as well.
Cheers!

SOURCE: how do you get plug wires off to change plugs on
The plug wire caps snap onto the top of the spark plug...you just grasp the cap and pull up.
To get to the plug wires and spark plugs, remove seat, fuel tank. If its a 2005 and newer Tour Deluxe, remove the "dog bone" between frame and cylinder head on each side.
