How do i access the freeze plug behind the power steering pump i only have the bolt just under the cap of the power steering pump but the tank part is in the way how do i get to it?

Unfortunately there is no easy way. You need to get a power steering pump pulley puller and remove the pulley, this will allow you to remove the power steering pump and then you can access the freeze plug.

2005 Nissan Murano steering wheel freeze

something is wrong with the fan belt if mechanical pump is used ,if its a electric motor type on the steering column then it could have a fault with this unit ,if you have been to a back street garage and had the tracking adjusted and only one track end rod was adjusted this will throw the centralised position out and this will make the inbuilt computer throw a wobbly but as iam not a dealer fitter i am unfamilar with the system layout of this vehicle

Entourage power steering freezing up

I suggest flushing the system first, could simply be build up from leaving the cap loose, or whatnot. Refill it with a conditioning fluid, like Lucas power steering fluid. Let us know if further diagnosis is needed

Clunking noise in steering

several things can cause this ..first check the steering column out in the engine compartment common problem is the column universal joints they freeze up with lack of lubrication have some one turn the steering wheel and you watch the shaft joints if they snap or have signs of rust that is your problem other causes are sway bar links that freeze up in the same way causing the snapping to vibrate up to the steering system. hope this helps you good luck

2001 sebring LXi - Steering sticks in center when cold. After driving short while or in warm weather no probblem. The longer is sits or the colder the weather the harder it is to move from center.

What do you mean by stick? It doesn't turn at all or it is just harder to turn?

Also how cold? Posting your question in May, I don't think you mean freezing winter cold unless you live in the southern hemisphere.

For freezing cold temperatures, it is not uncommen to get harder steering especially if you have old contaminated power steering fuild. At freezing cold temperature, power steering fluids gains vescosity and it is harder for the pump to circulate it, but the problem should go away as the engine warms up. I would suggest that you replace you fluid with a fresh approved one.
