All is not lost flush transmission refill 2 big hoses are radiator 2 smaller are transmission google year & make for diagram of radiator hoses & check on YouTube don't give up mistakes are a part of learning !
www.carsdirect.com > Car Repair > Transmission Repair If the filter fails to do its job properly, the transmission fluid will quickly reach a point where it is too dirty to do its job efficiently. Where the contamination reaches ...
www.carsdirect.com > Car Repair > Transmission Repair Insure that the transmission fluid color is bright red and not brown or black ... your car's dirty transmission does not allow for adequate transmission fluid flow, .... my gears are slipping & I need a tranny flush or I just need a filter & oil change.
No, Your radiator has many small ports which when antifreeze is mixed with oil or transmission fluid creates a chocolate milk looking mixture. This will not cool your engine as it needs resulting in overheating, and or blowing of your head gasket
there a vent in top of tranny if car ever in flood water will get in thu vent other than a flood if u have a open top or soft roof rain water could run down thu floor board or if your using jeep off road going thu creek or river
if u do have water in any auto tranny it will destory it
reason is a auto tranny has a lot of clutch disks and the materialdisintegrates in water
Well first off, coolant in the transmission will cause transmission failure if left in long enough. Proving why the radiator failed will be another story.
you have several points to check!
the dip stick tube has a "O" ring seal at the bottom where it fits to tranny.
a reverse switch on tranny & the shifters selector shaft has a seal that may be leaking !
there are the cooler pipes from cooler to tranny [in & out] plus pump seal to the torque converter [leaks out between engine & tranny bellhousing] & then there are the drive shaft or shafts seals
so wipe it all clean & park it in a diffrent clean spot!
some will only leak when its runnung due to tranny,s internal pressure!
Yes, it's a torque convertor shudder. Flush your transmission fluid and add an additive to help shudder (shudder fix, etc). That fixes most of the vehicle, the others will need a convertor. Try to keep transmission serviced around every 30k will help this concern.
The cooler for the transmission goes through the side tank in the radiator. It burst and caused a leak and the fluids to mix. Be sure to change the filter in the tranny as well as flush it. For the engine and the hoses, leave the t-stat out and run it with plain water and some dawn dish soap to carry as much of the oily residue out of the cooling system. You will need to do this several times, use about 5-6 oz. of soap when you fill the cooling system up to flush the oily mix out.
To change the transmission fluid make sure you have purchased: 1.
filter with the o-ring 2. MOPAR ATF + 3 Type 7176, p/n 05010124AA fluid
(I believe it took 6 quarts?) You are not changing the torque converter
fluid so there will not be 12 quarts needed.). 3. Pan gasket. You
should receive the new neoprene reusable pan gasket. This is because
the recommendation is to change the transmission fluid every 25,000
miles. 4. There is a fluid additive to prevent foaming? Use it.
Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Remove the pan bolts. Remove the
old gasket material with a plastic scraper. There could be metal
transfer if you use a metal scraper. Clean the pan carefully. Clean the
magnet that sits in the pan as it collects the minute metal shavings.
If you see an excess of larger particles, you really should have the
transmission inspected at a shop. Replace the filter carefully looking
at its arrangement before removing. It took a second look to install a
new filter because I did not watch how it was situated before removing.
Use a thin coat of transmission fluid on the new pan gasket. Orient
reusable gasket properly with bolt holes and assemble oil pan and
gasket to transmission case. Tighten oil pan bolts to 19 Nm (165 in
lbs.). CAUTION: DO NOT OVERFILL TRANSAXLE. DO NOT ADD OIL IF LEVEL IS
BETWEEN: LOWER HOLES FOR WARM OIL (100?F). UPPER HOLES FOR HOT OIL
(180?F.).
