Why is my Yamaha Rt 100c gears so rough and engine winding up so loud when I finally get it in second gear, sounds like its gonna blow up, its that loud.

It Idles fine when I adjust it but when I start it up with the choke and let it sit till it sounds like its ready to ride. I put the chock inn and the bike starts to ride horrible. I cant get the bike to shift into a different gear without it sounding like its going to blow up. I have been using the little screw to take the idle down but hasn't worked.

Check the gears mabey they are skipping when the bike goes to fast. like at 3/4 throttle theres to much torque an it just wont catch.

SOURCE: idles revs by itself

You have an air leak in the intake system. The fuel mix is getting lean from excess air mixing with the gas. New gaskets and seals between carb and head will usually take care of the problem. Any oil stains around the base of the cylinder head? Head gasket going bad.if there is. The gasket could be the leak. Time for a valve job? Air getting sucked in past an exhaust valve or two? Have the compression checked. Find the leak(s) and you find the fix.

SOURCE: I have a 1997 tw200. It runs and idles fine, but

Sound like it could be a problem with the side-stand cut-off switch. (It is to prevent you riding away with the side-stand down.) They are notorious for getting crud in them and sticking.

Hope this helps!

Bajaj wind 125 : rpm increases when pressing clutch while lowering the gear & engine not remainig at idle tuning

For me that is normal they call that engine brake. If you ever drove a manual transmission car from high gear to low gear it will do the same thing, but if you are driving a Automatic car it will not do that because the clutch is automatic you will not hear that loud noise.

95 fzr making a knocking sound as i drive.

I have a similar issue. When I decel. A sorta grinding takes place in the gear box..but only when I have a rider with me. Tho. I only weigh 150lbs.and when it's just me. All is well. Except for a ticking every so often and I only feel it in my left foot peddle and gear shifter. But when riding a passenger upon decelleration withe the clutch not pressed it's a rough grinding sound. Any body know why

What type of oil should i use for my engine/gear oil / final drive for my rt 1200 08

First, you did read your owners manual right? The manual lists the BMW approved oils for your bike. It is also important to use the correct quantity of oil in the engine, this is listed in the manual too.

I use Castrol Syntec 20-50 for the engine and synthetic gear oil (90 weight) for the trans and final drive.

Yamaha ttr 125 clicking sound in second gear

Yes, change second gear and the gear it meshes up with. This is the voice of experience talking. Whatever caused the tooth to break applied the same pressure on the mating gear. That made the meshing gear weak such that as soon as pressure is on it again, it will break a tooth or two right away. See diagram below showing pinion gears, wheel gears and slider gears.

09cd321.png 4282256.png
3783529.png This is the transmission and clutch. The ENTIRE engine tears down, top end, clutch, shifter, kick starter, flywheel and electrics, forks and drum, crankshaft etc. Needed tools are a flywheel puller, case splitter, torque wrench, impact driver and circlip pliers. This is not a beginners project. You can get a factory service manual and give it a try but I don't recommend it. The service manual may or may not have a power transmission diagram. I don't have a diagram for this engine.
