My dvx 400 arctic wont start up but it backfiring real loud

Check the charge on the battery, should be at least 12.6 Volts DC, then look for loose or corroded connections, starting with the battery cables.

double check your idle air screw turns, try adjusting your main needle up or down

most of the time its 2.5 turns out

Carb probly gut corroded from water. Get some cleanr from a marine stor and addit totank. Auto cleanr wont work

if this has been sitting,,even if it hasn't, #1clean or replace the air filter, #2have the carb professionally cleaned and set, and #3 replace the spark plug.

sounds like the main jet in the carburetor could be clogged.

or one crazy thing... i bought a chinese scooter. same exact problem. finally after 1000s of dollars spent changed the ignition coil and it fixed the problem. bad coil may be the problem....
