2001 996 turbo, slight coolant leak from the front of the motor,

There seems to be a slight leak at the front of the motor, and when the engine is shut off and the pressure builds in the system is when you can smell the leaking coolant, and ideas to what it may be and how I can fix this?

To save money go rent a radiator pressure tester pump up the system to 12-15 lbs then take a light and search for a coolant leak check hose connections, water pump, radiator itself. if you are not comfortable looking for the leak call a buddy to help. you will also be able to locate the leak by looking all over the motor for a little yellow river that heads to the ground

A blown head gasket doesn't necessarily mean there is water in the oil. Check for bubbles coming into the coolant tank. Take car for a short drive to build up coolant pressure and you should be able to see where it is leaking from a bit easier. It is possibly coming from a heater pipe or core plug.

SOURCE: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee fluid leak

That is the area the air conditioner vent drains. There aren't a lot of fluids possible - coolant, power steering fluid and transmission fluid are the only ones that would be in that position unless your windshield washer fluid leaks from the tubing. Brake fluid would be closer to the wheels. If the air conditioner runs at all it removes moisture from the passenger compartment and drains near the passenger side firewall. All the other fluids would hae a definite smell.

SOURCE: My 2001 Ford Windstar van seems to be using alot of coolant daily

Possible coolant leak on hot engine parts causing it to evaporate as it leaks. That would definitely invade the cabin air. You would need to carefully check under the hood with the engine warmed up and running.

Also could be a headgasket failure between coolant channels and a combustion chamber. This latter problem sometimes shows itself as vapor at the tailpipe after there should be no more visible. You may also detect the odor of coolant there too.

2002 volvo v70 coolant diagram to follow hoses to trace a coolant leak rear engine near turbo

If you have a coolant leak at the rear of the engine, there are not too many choices that it could be. Either the turbo itself, the coolant hose to the turbo, or possibly a hose going to the heater core.

Oil leak when car is on slight slope

Im not fully conversant with Turbos , but I would hazard a guess from memory that there is an oil feed from the engine to the turbo to lubricate it. I would think that the oil sump in the turbo has a seal at one or both ends. When the car is level, the oil doesn't reach the level of the oil seal, and therefore doesn't leak. When the car is on a slope, the oil will level itself out and probably be above the oil seal and then it leaks. Check if the leak occurs only when the car is pointing uphill or downhill. It may give you an idea as to which end seal is leaking.

I have a 98 uno turbo If the car idle it don't smoke when i drive of for a while there come white smoke out but not a lot but it look like it coming out with force beat of the motor cam and then the water...

It has a seeping head gasket! This is a common problem with all import engines. They are not designed to run hot! Even if they have a lot of miles on them, this problem always seem to follow. If you are familiar with running compression test on a engine, I highly suggest you run one on your engine. Run a compression test with it cold and after the engine is warmed up. If the compression is lower once the engine is warm, your head gasket is leaking compression, and its pulling oil from between the gasket into the cylinders causing the smoke. Or it can be a combination of a seeping head gasket and a bad oil seal on the turbo too as well....

Hi. We are again having problems. The car engine smokes first thing in the morning. It is White smoke and smells like engine oil. It only lasts maybe 10-15 mins then there is no more smoke. It seems to be...

White smoke is usually coolant, oil is usually a blue color, most turbos r cooled by coolant so U may have a coolant leak in the turbo, may B a seal or crack in the turbo. Check your coolant level occasionally to C if it drops.

When engine is running, coolant is coming out of turbo engine seems to run fine. But alotof smoke from exhaust

Hi:
You need to trouble shoot further, as you have a head gasket leak, which is letting coolant out into the exhaust, which passes thru your turbo. Check your engine oil to see if it is contaminated.
You should stop running the engine ASAP, as the damage could increase. Right now it is probably fixible with just the new head gasket set.

Overheating and leaking coolant

Get yourself a pressure tester. Make sure everything is as dry as possible, use compressed air if available. Top off the radiator and hook up to tester. Pump up not to exceed the psi on the cap. Then listen carefully and look with a light. If it's mainly on top of the engine, keep an eye on the intake gasket area and any hoses. This is your best bet of finding the leak, because trying to find it with the engine running can cause burns and you can't hear it leaking.

White smoke from exhaust

If you are getting clouds of white smoke out the exhaust it is a good indicator of antifreeze getting into one or more of the cylinders. I bought a "Great" car sight unseen from a friend once and when he pulled in the drive the whole car disappeared in a cloud of white smoke that only left when he shut the engine off. I found head gasket leaks in half the cylinders. It takes very little coolant to cause the white smoke. If you are absolutely sure of zero coolant loss perhaps the smoke is a little blue--an indication of burning a little oil from a sloppy turbo bearing. Try the nose test-- it may give you the answer. Burning oil has a distinctive smell.

Oil in coolant only

You might have a blown head gasket that is allowing one of your oil galleries in the engine to mix engine oil with the coolant after the oil pressure gets to a certain point. You might also have a cracked head causing the same type of problem.
