A bad solenoid or starter will also act/sound like the battery is weak. I would start by replacing the solenoid if you are not going to take it in to be fixed or have them tested because it is fairly cheap.

My 99 Plymouth breeze has to get a jump just to start Everytime wat is the problem and how do I fix it

Weak battery is my guess. You haven't mentioned any cran (GRR GRR), clicking noises, lack of dashboard lighting, or absence of sounds of a fuel pump noise (before the starter kicks in.)

How to start Falcon when it refused to do it ?Starter is good

May be weak battery. Some cars won't kick over when battery power is weak. If it won't start even when jumped with cables, then check connections and engine ground to battery cable. don-ohio

Co.zaMy 2006 BMW 320i E90 wont start, it does switch on,lights and windos are also working but it doesn't start. We had to kick start it this morning and it worked, what could be wrong?

Flat battery. Your lights and other accessories draw alot less power than starter needs. Have your battery load tested to verify.

2004 alero turn key car clicks but wont start

Dead battery. Try jump starting it. Then stop by any good parts store (Advance, Autozone, etc) and have them to a FREE charging system test and a FREE battery load test. I suspect your battery has left this planet...

Turn the key and car want say any thing . just put new battery in 3months ago . Im thinking its the starter how can I test to make sure

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Once you detached the starter you can test it by tapping the starter body to the ground of the battery and the starter solenoid to the positive connector. Make sure you'll have someone to hold the starter to be secured when it kicked. If it doesn't kick then it surely is faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

My 2004 Hyundai Sonata will not turn over after being outside all day at work (it is cold). The car tries to start, but it sounds sluggish. I tried jumping the car, but it didn't help at all. I have had...

it may be a weak battery if when jumping it the engine didnt spin fast, but i belive the first time the battery was weak and trying to start may have flooded it with the cold weather, have the battery tested and replace it if not good then try holding the gas pedal down to floor like the older cars and hold it until motor gets going then slowly let up as rpms rise, you may have to crank a while.

My 2004 yukon xl wont start and it makes a clicking sound. battery sounds like it is weak, but had it tested and they said it was good. what is the problem

if battery is fully charged and checks good then have a helper hold the key in the start position while someone hits the starter with a hammer it may start this would show for sure the starter is the problem

2004 Passat TDI won't start

using the key, lock car/hold key over for 30 secs, then press/hold unlock button for 30 secs, that resets the alarm/immobiliser.OR does the pre heater coil light up orange then go out so that you can start car,or are you trying to start the car too soon or waiting too long after the light goes out.also try spare key, sometimes key looses code...as the pre heater is operated by opening the drivers door any delay...
have you tried wynns/redexe diesel treatment, could be dirty injectors.....
after trying all the above and you have no joy, come back to me, ta!

My 1986 ford laser kc won't start. When I turn the key the dash lights up and the ignition clicks but it won't kick over. I can push start it.

The clicking is the starter bendix. When you hear the clicking, this almost 100% of the time means that you do not have enough amperage for the bendix to spin the starter gear up and mesh so as to turn over your engine. In other words...your battery is weak. Try this test...If you can jump start the car, you probably need a battery replacement. If your battery is good, however, you may just have poor connection...corrosion etc and need to clean all your connections. Good Luck, Hope this helps!
