Hi I had a similar problem with my CBF1000 when almost new. Local garage took bike back in and jumped up and down on the gear lever for 20 mins and told me to try it once more. If not cured the engine would need to come out to replace neutral switch!. After a little investigation I found that the switch fitted to the clutch needed cleaning. After cleaning that switch the problem has never reoccurred. Has to be worth a try. I would be tempted to clean switch on side stand as well before resorting to try and replace the neutral switch.

check the wiring circuit for a fault as there must be something drawing too much current...get auto elect to fit ampmeter to check what load its drawing ....maybe water causing poor connection...check battery...if a battery is suspect and starts going flat often replace it...clean carbon from the inside of starter motor...

sounds like a fuel issue, how long has the bike been sitting? You said it is worse in certain weather conditions, so i don't think electrical would act up in different weather conditions. I am not sure if your bike has carbs or fuel injection. If it has carbs, you most likely have dirty pilot jets.

Not an exact answer to your question as I don't know the topbox size, but even boxes that advertise as holding 2 helmets don't always do what they say. Depends on helmet style and size. They can say 2 helmets, but mean only 2 small size open face, not much good if you have 2 extra large full face ones (as in my case). Might be worth bearing in mind. Best way is to actually check one out yourself if possible. Hope that helps.

only way to do it is have it plastic welded and it will give a bit more strength,i had the same problem with a earlier model just the design of fairing,got it welded and has not happened again cheers
