That is a ground issue, check the grounds or negative connection of all the lights. what is happening is that the other lights are getting their ground from the other lights that is why when you swithc to that the light, the rear one goes off.

tnx for using fixya,

How to replace head lights on a 2008 cadilac dts

Turn off your Cadillac CTS and look below the front grille for the bottom pins that hold it in place. Push these pins inward to disengage them.

  • 2 Open the hood. Look for the pins that hold the grille in place on the engine compartment side. Push in these pins. Pull the grille off the front of the Cadillac CTS.
  • 3 Remove the side pins from the CTS fender on the side that has the headlight you wish to replace. Pull the side fender away from the vehicle to prepare for removing the headlight.
  • 4 Remove the three bolts on the top and rear of the headlight.
  • 5 Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the headlight.
  • 6 Push or pull the headlight through the front of the Cadillac CTS and set it aside. This part may require a lot of force if the headlight is stuck.
  • 7 Insert the new headlight along the runners upon which the previous headlight sat, and attach the wiring harness. Reinstall the three bolts you removed earlier, as well as the side finder and the grille.

My 2001 Ford Ranger has no instrument panel lights or running lights. I turn on the headlight switch and there is nothing. I have headlights and breaklights, but no running lights or instrument cluster. ...

Hi, I am an ASE certified auto repair technician with 35 years experience, specializing in diagnostics. If my answer helped you a positive testimonial is appreciated, good luck with your problem.

It is pretty common for this problem to be a bad headlight switch. I would advise testing the switch before replacing it. That being said I would give it a 90% plus chance of being a bad headlight switch. If you want to test it yourself I would recommend getting a good repair manual at a major auto parts store. This will have a wiring diagram in it and will allow you to test the switch ones it is removed.

i would say your interior light's are turned all the way down you should have a rheostat right beside your head light switch try turning the dial, while your head lights are on and see if your dashlights get fixed

What is the firing order for 1988 ford f150 5.8L

Some where on the intake there will be the firing order cast into the intake. Just remember passenger is 1-4 and the drivers side is 5-8. If not I think on the sticker it will tell you the firing order. Make sure to gap the plugs.

1994 toyota 4 runner rear lights

Your wiring could not have been checked thoroughly. Heres an easy solution. Establish if the earth (-12v) to the bulb holder is stable. If it is then run a new wire from the front park lamps to the rear. That will solve your problem. Remember to cut off the original wire that goes to the rear and insulate it well.
