Hi, the original manufacturer's horn is behind the passenger side fog light. VW Passat models have one low tone and one high tone horn so you will need to identify the one that you need if you are only replacing one horn.

2012 Passat horn quit

Use a voltmeter at the horn connector and have someone press the horn button. If you see voltage at the connector, then the horn is bad. If you don't see voltage, then either the relay is bad, the clockspring, or the horn button is bad

Check the horn relay is ok,
Check the horn ground is ok.

Place a trouble light across the horn supply- when horn is pressed it should light up steady.
If it lights up, the voltage to the horn is ok -then a replacement horn should fix it.

AIR BAG FAULT WARNING LIGHT KEEPS COMEING WHEN CAR IS STARTED

I had the same problem. My 2008 Passat had to get a faulty rotator that controls the electrical part of the dashboard on the car.First the Air Fault light came on then my whole dashboard went out the next day. I had no horn, no radio, no lights on at all on the dashboard. It was that rotator part that controls the electrics. I was told they are faulty after a few months, they ordered a new one, installed and my car is good as new.
