Rear window shade has quit working. Makes grinding noise when activated.

Dose tge nois comes in when you mostly breaking or all the time ? Is your car rear wheel ?

Could be bad u-joints, wheel bearings. Raise rear of vehicle and rotate wheel by hand, if noisy remove and replace. Hope that helps.

it is not off track. the grinding or metal scratching noise is from the window regulator cable that has broke off from the plastic idler pulley on regulator and is now wound up on the motor. you need a new window regulator.

If you have eliminated the noise coming fom the rear brakes, then the sound in front could be the wheel hub or bearings. When the brakes work, there is a certain amount of centering that happens when the brakes grab the rotor. Also, it puts stress on the CV joint to have Brakes on one side and Transmission Torque on the other.

You need someone to check these 2 items for roughness.
