My 1995 BUICK PARK AVENUE cranks up, and drives fine. when I go to slow down it just shuts off on me. It started a couple months ago, but only happened once or twice. A couple days ago it did it 7 times. I did some research, bough a CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, had my neighbor put it in, and it still keeps shutting off. Any ideas?

1994 Buick Park Avenue: will not start with out jumping, Replaced the battery, problem remains. Can jump start the car and drive it but when shut down for a few minutes it will not restart using battery...

QUESTION: Without a jump, does the motor crank when you turn the key to "START"?

...

If you can jump start it, then you know you have spark, fuel and compression; you know your starter and ignition are fine.

My guess is a loose/missing connection at the positive battery terminal for your starter.

1994 buick park avenue, idling up and will not idle down

If it's not sticking throttle linkage, and i assume it isn't because you have an engine light on, it's probably a faulty idle control sensor. You can get one at any parts store, and they aren't hard to remove and replace. The parts guy can show you exactly where it is on his screen.
