The actuator for this has gone bad, either replace, or manually lift them to stay up at all times, there generally is a turn nob near that lights under the hood to accomplish this

1994 dodge dakota my headlights and tail lights and brake lights don't work my abs and parking brake lights are on my dash lights don't work either I replaced the headlight switch and still no

These are all different circuits. The brake lights are on a 10amp fuse - the headlights are on a 50amp fuse - and the parking and dash lights are on a 20amp fuse.
Do you have power going into the headlight switch and the brake light switch ?

Headlights don't work unless you hold high beams

Check the headlight Relay and/or fuses - should be in the fuse panel.

Headlight goes on and off jeep2010 wrangler Sahara

Hi There,

Thanks for the question,
I had a similar problem with the headlights turning on and off.

What you need to do is just check the earthing inside the bonnet , usually it's to the right hand side when you stand facing your vehicle and is placed near one of the headlights.

Just ensure that the earthing is tight and not loose and your problem will be solved.

If you don't want to do it yourself, just don't worry go to a mechanic and tell him to fix the earthing as your headlight is turning on and off and he will know that you are knowledgeable and won't take advantage of you by cheating you.

If this does not work then just check one of the electric cutouts that belong to the headlights and then just ensure that they are fitted perfectly.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Sajjad

DRL works all the time...turn lamp switch on ..don't get brighter...and highbeams don't work.

The DRL's are separate from the actual headlights. It sounds like your headlights aren't working at all. The first thing I would check would be the headlight fuse(s), or relay(s). The location for these should be in your owner's manual.

Hope this helps!

How do I take the headlight covers off my 1997 Taurus

if you are talking about the front section of the headlight assemblies they don`t as the front portion of the headlight and rear portion of the headlight are a one piece unit.you don`t say why you want to do this.if its to replace bulbs they are replaced from behind the assembly,if its because the lens is cloudy they can be cleaned(buffed) clear,if not badly damaged,at a shop that has the equipment to perform the job.
