Re: Need help to put on a gmc 95 safari outside left door...
You haft to take the inner door panel off and on the in side of the door there is two ten mm nuts you need to remove. then you can pull it out and unhook the rods for the door and locks.

You probably have a broken clip inside the door. There is a rod that connects the handle to the actual latch. The rod is held in place with a plastic clip on both ends. Also check to make sure our handle is still firmly mounted to the door.
Busted off right...common problem in these...you'll need to get one at either the junk yard(cheap) or the dealer(expensive)..then you need to take the door panel off the inside of the door to get access to the inside of the handle...there will be two 10mm nuts you need to remove holding the door handle assy. in..remove them and replace with new one..assemble in reverse order
these rods need to be adjusted, they are threaded like a bolt so they stay in place on the plastic clip, remove rods from handle then pull or push them as the handle would, this sounds like the adjutment is off on the rods also make sure to lube top and bottom latches.
You have to remove the door panel from the inside. Is this the handle on the left door or the right door and does it have full doors or half doors and a hatch glass.
you would have to pull out the interior pannel and and unlock it with a screw driver the latch has a small hole that you could fit the screw driver in and it will release the door latch I have open various doors with a broken handle and it seems that you could do the same good luck.
Go to the junkyard and get a new door and put it on. I wouldn't go through the trouble of taking the door apart to put on a new handle when you can probably get a whole new door for around the same price :)
other than drilling out the two studs on the handle ,the only way is to remove the inner door panel and open it from inside the door. You can see the actuator once the panel is removed
your best bet is to get dutcht doors from a junkyard and replace them because putting the regular doors you might have problems with the alighment of the doors with the latches. good luck let me know how it went.
hi, remove the entire door interior panel, keep notes and diagrams as you go, even take pics, usually the exterior handle is secured by 2 small screws or nuts, undo these and the handle will detach . there will be a small rod connected to this handle by a small clip or similar. reassembly is a reversal of the entire process, just take your time
remove door panel.. inside door you will see a rod going to the handle..on the end is a clip ..push the clip up off the rod .slide the rod out..remove 2 ..13mm nuts from handle ..remove handle
