Both are electrical units and I suspect that there is a break in one of the printed circuit board tracks behind the gauges in the dash. It is a fairly well known problem with these vehicles. Google is your friend..I have read of one particular firm in the UK that repairs them, but otherwise it will be the wreckers or the Nissan dealer to the rescue....
If they all stopped working at the same time then it is probably a fuse or possibly 2. Check your fuse panels in the dash and under the hood. The dash lights and gauges should be a fuse labeled instrument cluster or guages, it is probably blown. The other fuse to look for will be the tail light fuse. This is where I would begin.
i have a 1990 nissan pathfinder with fuel gauge reading problems,at 1/4 tank the gauge reads full, and at other times it reads the actual quanity any ideas/
I had the same problem with my 95 finder, it it probly the dimmer switch on the dash shorted out, it cost me 220 bucks to have my mechanic figure that out
