Normally and if you are lucky, replacing the plugs will fix it. If you don't know when its had its last tuneup, giving it a complete tune up on that year car would be recommended) (replacing the plugs wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter,air filter, pcv valve and go all the way and change the oil and filter.) (tip) Old plug wires break easy when removing them from the plugs.

Ignition switch broke in 87 ford f 150 need to unlock steering wheel to tow it


About the only way to do it is to drill out the lock cylinder or take the steering wheel off. There is a plate under the steering wheel the cylinder locks in place.

87 ford f-150 no elec. to the ignition ,no lights no start no nothing ,can criss solinoid ,will turn but not start


Check the fusable link just after the battery. Starter does not go through it, and it will be after the starter solonoid.

There are 5 different engines available for the '87 F-150.

LEARING HOW TO TAKE OFF GAS FILTER ON A 87 FORD F 150


you have to buy a special tool to slide it off . ive tried without it and its impossible to get off. if you know were it is then get the removal tool open the gas cap and slide the hoses off each side.

engines don't jump time
the ticking can be a problem hydraulic lifter or faulty rocker
the smoking cab from cracked /failed valve stem seals as they dry out and crack if they were working at all before the extended shut down
you could have an injector rusted up internally

87 Ford F250 turns over but wont start


Fuel cut off switch or inertia swith on passenger side kicker panel, it might have got accidently kicked while getting out.
