I tested my o2 sensor and it was bad so i replaced it but it still does the sputtering when it gets hot.. its not as bad but its still there.. any ideas as to what else it could be?
where do I find the Oxygen Sensor’s signal wire that modify the signal my truck’s computer receives to adjust gasoline usage? where do I find the Oxygen Sensor’s signal wire that modify the signal my truck’s computer receives to adjust gasoline usage?

where is the iat sensor on a 2005 dakota v8--not a H.O.? where is the iat sensor on a 2005 dakota v8--not a H.O.?
Depending on the year there are actually 3 o2 sensors starting from the converter and going all the way to theexhaust manifold, usually if one goes bad another one will, in my experience the one closest to the converter and the next one in line are the one I would test.

Rather then guessing having diagnostic's run by a qualified repair shop would be your best option . Checking fuel trim's short an long term fuel trim's ,are the O2 sensors switching normally , What's MAP voltage ? Do you know what a MAP sensor is ? The manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP sensor) is one of the sensors used in an internal combustion engine's electronic control system. Engines that use a MAP sensor are typically fuel injected. The manifold absolute pressure sensor provides instantaneous manifold pressure information to the engine's electronic control unit (ECU) Coolant temp. sensor , Throttle position sensor . If you had to a repair shop , find a better one. 002 Fuel System Tests Start Here
Spit and sputter can happen because of not enough fuel or air. last thing to check for fuel is the fuel pressure regulator. On the air side would be the the air filter(filthy) or catalytic converters(clogged). on the mechanical side, Could be bad rings, burnt valves. Compression test would find this.
Well, I doubt more than one sensor is bad, if any.
The trouble codes tell the mechanic what to test, not replace.
The O2 sensors provide data to the engine computer to adjust fuel mixture. You could also have low fuel pressure or something else.
For the code pulled was diagnostic trouble code diagnostics done or was the O2 sensor just replaced > What was the code # P0xxx what . There are a number of codes for the O2 sensors on cars . They don't say replace the O2 sensor . diagnostics must be done , electrical circuit testing , plus other tests
CODE ???? If you would like help need to know what code ? P0172 ?
Using a scan tool an checking scan data would be the first thing to do , before replacing parts ! That's a rookie move. What are the fuel trims at ? is the PCM adding ,taking away fuel ? Are the O2 sensors switching rich to lean like thier suppose to. Using a better scan tool an looking at data , an freeze frame data . 003 Freeze Frame and Conclusion

You could have leaking injectors , clogged air filter , bad fuel pressure regulator , mass air flow sensor bad . You wan't fix cars , learn how.
o2 sensory ???? ha ha ha lol . it's O2 sensor
Suggest you take it to a qualified repair shop . Because you have no clue .
when was the last time the oil was changed on either one off these vechs. on the one hand the cam sensor is located in the timing cover with a spring, this will not cause a no start our dying problem but will set a cel light. if the egr passages is pluged up it will cause a egr problem hard start no start rough ilde. o2 sensor can cause a rough ilde but will also set a code . what is the mech condation off these vechs. run a commpession test and a vauccmn test. if these two items show bad readings our result. these two test should be done frist

Also:
Once it gets hot, is it hard to start?
Is your engine Fuel Injected?
BTW, its good to know we're on the right track. Let me know the answers. Then we can take it from there.

Were there two or one sensors?
Did you check trouble codes? Some Dodges have two modes for this. One with the engine off, the other with it running.
