Headlights not working on 1986 astro van - Astro Chevrolet Cars & Trucks

There are only diagrams for the 1988 onwards to 1992 models. They don't show a headlight fuse either.

No relay either. It is puzzling.

Try pulling the fuse or the relay marked DRL (Daytime Running Lamps). More than likely each headlamp has its own fuse and relay.

Also, ensure that your headlamps work when you turn on the switch!

check relays and fuses located with owners manual if you dont have
look in fuse box may be under hood not familiar with astro vans

if the headlight switch does not shut the lights off replace the switch.
unplugging the lights or disconnecting the battery is another option to turn off

The BCM is located immediately above the heater controls inside the dash on my 2004 Astro. I know it controls the headlights and locks but not gauges. Haynes says the gauge fuse supplies it power....but I'm not going to bank on that one.

check your local library for a reaper book, it should have the fuse block picture and numbers.

Also check all of your grounds, a little corrosion caused the same problem on mine. Just had to find the right ground. Mine was on front under pass headlight causing mine. Good Luck
