You can test if the time is jumped, just move the distributor a little turning it to the left. and try to start. or change the rotor and the chip on your distributor.,......

or before that check your air intake box, may be the sensor that make open and close to controlled the air.

jumped time will be another option, . but i will be not %100 sure I need to revise the car my self to give u a exact cause,.

Check your fuel pressure. Make sure it is within specification, sounds like you have a bad regulator.

I drove my car a half mile away from my house and the engine shut off and my check gages light came on my heads-up display. We talked to a few mechanics and they said there was not enough fuel pressure so...

While the key is in the last position before the start or during starting, check if you are getting fuel to the fuel line to the engine. If there is none then the fuel pump fuse or relay may have gone bad or the fuel pump itself.

I have a 1990 Mitsubishi eclipse 2.0 non turbo. The car was running fine with the exception of the engine light coming on and going off now and then. I drove it the other day shut the car off and it was...

This is a problem with the main ECM (Engine Control Module). Similarily, the early sebrings and avengers shared the same engine as the eclipse. When the vehicle fails to start, try disconnecting the front wiring harness from the front module (located on the driver's side next to the air box). After disconnecting the harness from the ECM, leave the vehicle alone for a minute or so to allow a full reset. I personally turn the engine to reset all the sensors before hooking the ECM back up, however it isnt required. Reconnect the ECM and the vehicle should start. This is a short term fix until you can gather the money for a costly ECM unit. Good luck and I hope this helps.

My volvo 740 non turbo car has resently failed to start i need some ideas on what to do, When i try to start the car it will crank but will not turn over and start, this is my first car so i have no idea...

the engine is either not getting fuel, or is not getting spark. with the ignition key in the "run" position, listen under the rear of the car (near the fuel tank) for the sound of the fuel pump. or, after cranking on the starter for a while, remove a spark plug and smell it. smells like gas? if so, the problem lies in the electrical area. if not, fuel is not getting to the engine.

Solved most of this myself. Changed ING. module which solved spark problem. The injectors still would not function, help came from JUSTANSWERS by idenifying a relay tucked between the left headlight motor and the coolant recovery canister. Like the IGN. module, this relays not cheap. I found a $5 dollar used replacement from a self-pull wrecking yard from it's sister car, a 1988 mazda 323.

(TOYOTA SURF 1990 TURBO DIESEL) No diesel coming out of fuel pump

If it has glow plugs or an intake heater you will need to disable the circuit. Then you can use a small amount of ether to spray into the air cleaner.!!! If you spray too much and/or Dont disable the circuits you can damage the motor!!! When you spray the ether, if the engine starts and stalls then its not getting fuel. This could be related to the fuel pump, injection pump, the fuel system loosing its prime(fuel line leak), fuel shut-off valve or solenoid. If it doesn't start then it could be related to your timing, valves or maybe compression.
