My jeep cherokee will just cut off while I'm driving, what could be the problem?

problem was solved by replacing the crank angle sensor.

You need to be a little more detailed with the problem. Does the engine cut out all of a sudden while driving down the road? if Yes, it very possible be a faulty fuel line, ingector, plugged fuel filter, bad gas...I owned a 1985 Cherokee and I had vacum line problems the whole time I owed it..You will get alot better answers to this if you do a web search for Automobile Forums for Jeeps...They are all over the internet and most have vehicle specific certified auto Techs that answer and help...That is how I troubleshoot and fix issues with my BMW all the time and I enjoy learning too. check the crank sensor and the wiring

I just had this problem on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Once the engine got warm, after about 15 to 20 minutes, the car would just die at random times, sometimes when doing 40 mph and sometimes at idle.

I ended up changing the Crankshaft Position Sensor and it cleared the issue.

If you have zero oil pressure thats a BAD sign, first have a mechanic check what the engines actual oil pressures are.

Check fuel filter and fule pump

sounds like the fuel pump relay...

thanks for more info replace the crank sensor it is breaking down when hot once it cools off it will work again .when they go bad the heat from the engine will break down the sensor
