Do a computer self test. It may aide in the troubleshooting.

Insert ignition key, turn as follows:

off-on, off-on, off-on. The codes will flash out in pairs of numbers using the check engine light, 5-5 being the end of the test. Or the codes may display on a digital odometer if so equipped. Report back with the codes.

Why does my jeep cherokee cuts off while driving?

You need to be a little more detailed with the problem. Does the engine cut out all of a sudden while driving down the road? if Yes, it very possible be a faulty fuel line, ingector, plugged fuel filter, bad gas...I owned a 1985 Cherokee and I had vacum line problems the whole time I owed it..You will get alot better answers to this if you do a web search for Automobile Forums for Jeeps...They are all over the internet and most have vehicle specific certified auto Techs that answer and help...That is how I troubleshoot and fix issues with my BMW all the time and I enjoy learning too. The link below is a search I did on Bing or Forums 1995 Jeep Cherokee....There are tons of them in the search

I have a 1999 grand jeep it cut off when im

I just had this problem on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Once the engine got warm, after about 15 to 20 minutes, the car would just die at random times, sometimes when doing 40 mph and sometimes at idle.

I ended up changing the Crankshaft Position Sensor and it cleared the issue.

My 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee cuts off while I'm driving.

If you have zero oil pressure thats a BAD sign, first have a mechanic check what the engines actual oil pressures are.
